𝐓𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐭, 𝐢𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐈; 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐧𝐨 𝐟𝐞𝐚𝐫! | 𝑁𝑖𝑛𝑒𝑡𝑒𝑒𝑛𝑡ℎ 𝑆𝑢𝑛𝑑𝑎𝑦 𝑖𝑛 𝑂𝑟𝑑𝑖𝑛𝑎𝑟𝑦 𝑇𝑖𝑚𝑒

Today, Christ speaks these comforting words to each of us: “Take heart, it is I; have no fear!” He reminds us that even in the turbulent waters of life, we are never alone. When we find ourselves struggling against strong winds, surrounded by darkness, fear, and uncertainty, what should we do?

The Gospel teaches us two simple yet powerful things: call on Jesus and welcome Jesus.

First, we must call on Jesus. Peter courageously steps out onto the water toward Jesus, but when he becomes frightened by the strong wind, he begins to sink. In desperation, he cries out, “Lord, save me!” (Mt 14:30). This simple prayer expresses our trust that Jesus has the power to save us. When fear overwhelms us and we feel that we are sinking beneath the difficulties of life, we too can call upon Him. We do not need perfect words—only a heart that trusts in His saving presence.

Second, we must welcome Jesus. After Peter cries out, Jesus reaches out to him, and the disciples welcome Him into the boat. As soon as Jesus enters, the wind ceases (Mt 14:32). This reminds us that while Jesus does not always remove the storms from our lives, He promises to be with us in the midst of them.

The boat of our life, and even the boat of the Church, will sometimes face strong winds and turbulent waters. Jesus does not promise that the journey will always be easy. Instead, He invites us to keep sailing, trusting that even our struggles can become opportunities to encounter Him more deeply.

When darkness surrounds us, when fear takes hold, and when we feel that we are about to sink, let us remember: Jesus is near. Call on Him. Welcome Him. Trust Him.

For He continues to tell us today:
“Take heart, it is I; have no fear!”

Miduar ikaw kang Isabel sa iyang kalisdanan;

𝐖𝐀𝐋𝐊𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐓𝐎𝐆𝐄𝐓𝐇𝐄𝐑 𝐈𝐍 𝐅𝐀𝐈𝐓𝐇, 𝐂𝐎𝐋𝐋𝐀𝐁𝐎𝐑𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍, 𝐀𝐍𝐃 𝐌𝐈𝐒𝐒𝐈𝐎𝐍

Our Mother of Perpetual Help Parish Family and Life Apostolate (FLA) was honored to host the Diocesan Coordinating Team, Vicariate Meeting, and ECFL Re-Echo on July 18, 2026, at the OMPH Parish Hall. The gathering brought together the Holy Family District Family and Life Apostolate Coordinators and parish leaders in a spirit of communion, collaboration, and shared mission.

More than a meeting, this gathering served as an opportunity to strengthen our commitment to the ministry of serving families, deepen our unity as one Church, and re-echo the valuable learnings from the ECFL conference. Together, we continue to build stronger family ministries that respond to the needs of today's families with faith, hope, and love.

May this encounter inspire us to remain steadfast in our mission of bringing Christ's love into every home and strengthening the family as the heart of the Church and society.
