WHY AND WHAT IS THE PHILIPPINE ECUMENICAL CHRISTIAN CHURCH (PECC)?
A true Pilipino cannot be half Protestant (alien) and half Pilipino or half Filipinista. By God’s grace, however, PECC evolved from within to PRESERVE and CONSERVE the original ideals, teachings, principles and practices of the PIC, along with the shiny virtues of our noble heroes and martyrs of our faith left most prominently by Fathers, Burgos, Gomez, Zamora, Aglipay, Rizal and the rest of their breed. PECC is a new name but genuinely and substantially is the original PIC or IFI in Teachings, Principles and Practices, in Spirit and in Truth.
PECC is open day and night to serve all people without distinction of race, color and religion. Its emblem of Faith is LOVE, PEACE, FELLOWSHIP and UNITY in Christ for all and in all – truly Filipino truly Christian, truly Ecumenical, exponent of cordial Filipino hospitality the only kind in the world.
With Msgr. Pedrito F. Famorcan – the first Filipino delegate and scholar to the World Council of Churches and anointed as the Supreme Head or Archbishop through the guidance of the Holy Spirit, P. E. C. C. grew from a small congregation to a thriving ministry. Registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission on July 7, 1969, with Registry No. 38772 and recently renewed with Registry No. CN200712917 and is much alive in the service of God and Brethren. Just as its fruit knows a tree, the Ministry yielded many spiritual fruits. Its branches bore bishops, priests, deacons, lay ministers, missionaries and intelligent, dedicated leaders of the faithful laity and several ministers and missionaries scattered over the archipelago. Indeed God had shown favor to this truth-adhering Filipino Church by the fruits that He had blessed on this Church and the resiliency to endure against all odds.
