MAY MAS OF THE MONTH
A life filled with struggles, redirections, and miracles best describes the journey of ROSHIEL MAE C. LANTICSE, a BS in Computer Science student at Caraga State University. Even before entering college, Roshiel already faced many challenges. With unstable internet access, she struggled through the online application process and even lost her application number without saving it. When the day of the admission exam came, she arrived late and was unable to take it, forcing her to apply as a walk-in applicant instead. After all that, she was waitlisted for the course she had always dreamed of—Computer Science. Despite the delays and uncertainty, she kept praying and trusting God, and in His perfect timing, she received the message that a slot had opened for her desired program. But the struggles did not end there. Entering Computer Science was overwhelming because she had little background in technology, no personal laptop, and difficulty keeping up with her classmates. There were moments when discouraging grades made her question whether she truly belonged in the program, and she often felt alone and inadequate.
In the middle of those struggles, God provided Roshiel with a family through MAS-AMiCUS. When she felt like giving up, the encouragement, comfort, and support of her kuyas and ates in the organization reminded her that she was not alone. They became a source of strength and joy, helping her endure the difficulties of her course while growing deeper in her faith in Christ. Through their prayers, guidance, and genuine care, Roshiel found the courage to keep going until she gradually overcame the obstacles before her. With God’s faithfulness, the support of MAS-AMiCUS, and the provision of her family, she grew stronger in faith and perseverance. Now a fourth-year BS Computer Science student, her story stands as a testimony that God uses both struggles and people to shape us, proving that even in our weakest moments, He is always faithful.
