In today’s Gospel, Jesus speaks about the parable of the sower. The seed represents the Word of God, while the sower is God Himself, who continues to sow His message through priests and pastors. The different kinds of soil symbolize the condition of our hearts and our readiness to receive His Word.

Father Malto reminded us that many of the faithful diligently attend church services and participate in the Mass, yet their hearts may still remain far from God. Although they hear the Word, it has not fully penetrated their hearts or brought about the conversion that God desires. The Gospel, therefore, challenges each one of us to examine ourselves and ask whether we truly allow God’s Word to transform our lives.

At the same time, we should not lose hope or become discouraged. Some people stop attending Mass because they feel that, despite their many years of devotion and even in their old age, they have not changed. However, God never ceases to sow His Word in our hearts, and His grace continues to work within us. No matter how long our journey of faith has been, it is never too late to experience a change of heart.

Let us continue to pray that the Lord may grant us the grace of true conversion and help us become fertile soil where His Word can take root and bear abundant fruit. Let us also ask for the intercession of our spiritual mother, Mary, and of God’s friends, the saints, that through their prayers and example, they may accompany us on our journey toward holiness and draw us ever closer to God.
