𝐋𝐨𝐨𝐤 👀 | Delegates from the Vicariate of Mary, Our Mother of Perpetual Help, join in this year's Diocesan Youth Day 2024 with the theme "Rise and Run: Embrace your journey with haste," held at Patin-ay, Prosperidad, Agusan Del Norte, February 16–18, 2024. Whereas youth from Holy Redeemer, Fatima, Bancasi, Bon2x, and Libertad participated in the diocesan event, where they gathered cherished memories, new friends, and a healthy relationship with God and reached the pinnacle of enjoyment as the event ended in success.

HAPPY NATIONAL YOUTH DAY 2023!

Today, December 16, is our annual National Youth Day PH! For this year, the anchor passage used in the celebration is Luke 10:25-37 or the parable of the Good Samaritan. Why this parable? Pope Francis beautifully articulates it in Fratelli Tutti:

The parable shows us how a community can be rebuilt by men and women who identify with the vulnerability of others, who reject the creation of a society of exclusion and act instead as neighbors, lifting up and rehabilitating the fallen for the sake of the common good. (Pope Francis, Fratelli Tutti, 67)

As we all celebrate the National Youth Day, we are invited to create safe and brave spaces for the youth to have conversations about their community and the issues of the country. Let us build the Church to be a space that can continue to nurture the values of the Gospel that will help guide the youth in their engagements with Philippine economic, social, and political realities.

We greet all the Filipino youth, as well as all the youth ministries which are organizing their local celebrations. May God bless us all in our mission for the youth and may we embrace a culture of encounter with everyone and respond to the invitation to synodality!

It is with a heavy heart that we bring this news to you. For this will also be for the safe well being of our community as a whole.

Recognizing that earthquakes are unexpected and the recent tragedy that fall upon our brothers and sisters in MSU Marawi is a clear example of social unrest and civil disorder, it is critical for us as responsible community members to remain aware and well-prepared for any possibility of any of this situations from recurring.

With this, by suggestion of our beloved Bishop of Butuan Most Rev. Cosme Damian R. Almedilla, D.D. and also with the notice from the Provincial Government of Agusan del Sur, the Diocesan Youth Days 2023 will be rescheduled until further notice.

Please be informed that the gathered registration fees and solidarity shares are still intact and will still be utilized for the guaranteed preparations of the much awaited DYD2023.
