As we reflect on Pentecost, we are reminded that the Holy Spirit continues to move within the Church and within each of us, bearing fruits of love, joy, peace, kindness, patience, and self-control. These gifts are not merely words to be spoken, but virtues to be lived each day, especially in moments of trial and division.

In these challenging times, when relationships within the Church are strained, misunderstandings deepen, and vindictiveness threatens to take root, we are called to remain steadfast in our faith in Christ. Pentecost reminds us that the Holy Spirit unites rather than divides, heals rather than wounds, and leads us back to compassion, humility, and truth. We must allow the Spirit to guide our thoughts, words, and actions so that we may become instruments of peace and reconciliation.

The Lord sees every injustice, hears every cry, and answers every prayer according to His will and perfect timing. The Church that Christ built is founded on proclaiming His Word, sharing the gift of salvation, and building bridges that welcome those who seek Him. As disciples filled with the Holy Spirit, may we continue the mission of Pentecost โ€” to bring hope, unity, and the light of Christ to a world longing for His presence.

We may be displaced but never without a home in Christ.

Today, May 22, 2026, the court ๐€๐‚๐๐”๐ˆ๐“๐“๐„๐ƒ Rev. Jerusa T. Semacio, Pastor of UCCP Butuan City, in the unjust vexation case filed against her by the other group.

The countless sleepless nights, emotional burden, and difficult cross-examinations are finally over.

UCCP Butuan City gives all glory and praise to the Lord for this victory. We sincerely thank everyone who prayed for and stood with us throughout this journey. God has heard our prayers, and indeed, He sees the hearts, intentions, and actions of His people.

As a church community, UCCP Butuan City continues to pray that truth, peace, and justice will prevail in all the endeavors of the Church.

UCCP Butuan clarifies that the individuals who appeared in the Facebook Live post of RMN DXBC Butuan 693, labeled โ€œUCCP Butuan Press Conference and Prayer Rally,โ€ ๐๐จ ๐ง๐จ๐ญ ๐จ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ๐ข๐œ๐ข๐š๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ฒ ๐ซ๐ž๐ฉ๐ซ๐ž๐ฌ๐ž๐ง๐ญ ๐”๐‚๐‚๐ ๐๐ฎ๐ญ๐ฎ๐š๐ง.

We respectfully call on RMN DXBC Butuan to exercise diligence and responsible journalism in verifying information and representations before publication, as the post may create confusion regarding the official position and representation of UCCP Butuan City and the United Church of Christ in the Philippines.

We also note that, based on records and previous directives from the Securities and Exchange Commission Philippines, concerns have been raised regarding the continued use of the acronym โ€œUCCPโ€ in the corporate name of the group involved.

This Sunday meditation reminds us that serving God is not only about the moments when life feels easy, comfortable, and convenient. Faith is often deepened in seasons of uncertainty, when we are called to trust Him beyond what we can understand. The Lord never promised us a life without trials, but He faithfully promised that He would be with us through them all.

Worshipping away from our church building may feel unfamiliar and even difficult at times. In moments like these, it is natural to ask why God allows certain situations to happen. Yet, through every challenge, the Lord gently reminds us that His presence is not confined to a place. He meets us wherever we are, sustaining us with His peace, strengthening our hearts, and teaching us to depend on Him more fully.

Perhaps these seasons are invitations to deepen our faith โ€” to trust that God is still working even when we cannot yet see the purpose. The trials we endure today may one day become testimonies of His faithfulness and grace.

So let us rest in His promises and find comfort in knowing that He walks before us, beside us, and behind us. The Lord will carry us through every season, and in His perfect time, everything will fall into place according to His will and grace.

We may be displaced but never without a home in Christ.
