(Ecclesiastes 3:16-17)

[16]And moreover I saw under the sun the place of judgment, that wickedness was there; and the place of righteousness, that iniquity was there.
At bukod dito'y aking nakita sa ilalim ng araw, sa dako ng kahatulan, na nandoon ang kasamaan; at sa dako ng katuwiran, na nandoon ang kasamaan.

[17]I said in mine heart, God shall judge the righteous and the wicked: for there is a time there for every purpose and for every work.
Sinabi ko sa puso ko, Hahatulan ng Dios ang matuwid at ang masama: sapagka't may panahon doon sa bawa't panukala at sa bawa't gawa.

(Ecclesiastes 3:12-13)

[12]I know that there is no good in them, but for a man to rejoice, and to do good in his life.
Nalalaman ko, na walang maigi sa kanila, kay sa magalak, at gumawa ng mabuti habang sila'y nabubuhay.

[13]And also that every man should eat and drink, and enjoy the good of all his labour, it is the gift of God.
At ang bawa't tao rin naman ay marapat kumain at uminom, at magalak sa kabutihan sa lahat niyang gawa, siyang kaloob ng Dios.

(Isaiah 54:14-15)

[14]In righteousness shalt thou be established: thou shalt be far from oppression; for thou shalt not fear: and from terror; for it shall not come near thee.
Sa katuwiran ay matatatag ka: ikaw ay malalayo sa kapighatian sapagka't yao'y hindi mo katatakutan; at sa kakilabutan, sapagka't hindi lalapit sa iyo.

[15]Behold, they shall surely gather together, but not by me: whosoever shall gather together against thee shall fall for thy sake.
Narito, sila'y magkakapisan, nguni't hindi sa pamamagitan ko: sinomang magpipisan laban sa iyo ay mabubuwal dahil sa iyo.

There's a moment we wrestling with why God would allow us to face temptation. Not that God tempts us (James 1:13) but we know that the Spirit led Jesus into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil.

(Matthew 4:1) So while God does not tempt us, it seems he, at times, does not take all temptation away from us. Here is my attempt at answering why:

1- The lust that attacks is not uncommon to man. It's happen in everyone. Even Jesus felt temptation, yet did not sin.

2- Jesus is faithful. In all ways. To all his promises. To me. Why would I turn from him? What could be better than calling Him my best friend? Nothing. I need to remember Him during temptation.

3- “He will not let you be tempted beyond your ability.” Really? It often feels impossible. Perhaps our ability is greater than we imagine? Perhaps we try on our own? Because it seems that the escape comes from Him... as in... we don’t increase in strength and overpower it, but we, because of Him, escape.

4- “He will not let you be tempted...” Not let. God does not tempt... but it seems to be within his power to stop certain temptations that are “too strong”. Which also means, he lets some through. So when you are tempted, it’s not from the hand of God, but the devil. But the Lord has approved it.

5- Why would He do this? There are purposes He must desire to do in us that come through our enduring temptation. Which means, even temptation is an instrument of growth and change in the hand of an almighty God. Your temptation is not just pointless frustration. It’s doing something! Like the coach who tells his players, “Again, another sprint!” He does not enjoy the pain his players are in, but he knows what is being produced by the difficulty is needed.

6- He always provides a way of escape. He provides. But it often feels like there is none. But in reality, it’s my flesh hoping there isn’t one so that I can indulge in sin. This is a problem on my part, not His. I need, through being with God everyday, to kill my flesh so when temptation comes, I see it rightly. If I’m not with God, my flesh will desire it and it’ll be so much harder.

7- “That you may be able to endure it.” Endure. Have you ever endured something pleasant? No. We endure things that are hard. Unpleasant. Difficult. But we can endure knowing He will use it. He let it pass to us. He is faithful to not just let it come, but “he provides” the way of escape. Ask Him next time. Ask and it will be given.How do you expect to endure and battle temptation when you aren’t with God everyday? It won’t work without Him. He provides the way out. If I’m not with him, there’s no way out. I’m not self sufficient.

8- This seems unfair at first. Why allow temptation God! But we must remember we are little ants, and He is the Empire State Building. He is far above us. He is wise and knows what He is doing. He doesn’t answer to us. This isn’t unfair. There’s actually much grace here if we stop to think about it. We assume so easily that God owes us anything. He doesn’t have to provide a way of escape. He doesn’t have to be faithful. He doesn’t have to block some temptation from us. We should receive the full onslaught of it, but we don’t. In reality, Jesus is the only human to ever have felt the fullness of sin. The perfect one. Our best friend. Felt it on his own back. He hung on the cross with the crushing force of guilt and shame because of sin. Why? So that you wouldn’t have to.

Maaari nating ikubli sa ating kapwa mga hayag at lihim na gawa, maging iyong intensyon o layunin, ngunit iyong talastasin lahat ay hindi nalilingid sa Diyos na lumikha, kahit laman ng puso at kalooban natin! Kaya kung ikaw ay gagawa, may nakakakita man o wala, maglingkod ka ng tapat sa Panginoon ng langit at lupa. At iyong aanihin bunga ng lahat ng iyong gawa.!

(Jeremiah 17:10)

[10]I the LORD search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings.
Akong Panginoon, ay sumisiyasat ng pagiisip, aking tinatarok ang mga puso, upang magbigay sa bawa't tao ng ayon sa kanikaniyang lakad, ayon sa bunga ng kanikaniyang mga gawain.

[29]Ni hindi ko na naman ikukubli pa ang aking mukha sa kanila; sapagka't binuhusan ko ng aking Espiritu ang sangbahayan ni Israel, sabi ng Panginoong Dios.

(Habakkuk 2:18-20)

[18]What profiteth the graven image that the maker thereof hath graven it; the molten image, and a teacher of lies, that the maker of his work trusteth therein, to make dumb idols?
Anong napapakinabang ng larawang inanyuan na yao'y inanyuan ng manggagawa niyaon; ng binubong larawan, na tagapagturo ng mga kasinungalingan, na tinitiwalaan ng nagaanyo sa kaniya, na gumawa ng mga piping diosdiosan?

[19]Woe unto him that saith to the wood, Awake; to the dumb stone, Arise, it shall teach! Behold, it is laid over with gold and silver, and there is no breath at all in the midst of it.
Sa aba niya na nagsasabi sa kahoy, Gumising ka; sa piping bato, Bumangon ka! Magtuturo baga ito? Narito, nababalot ng ginto at pilak, at walang hinga sa loob niyaon.

[20]But the LORD is in his holy temple: let all the earth keep silence before him.
Nguni't ang Panginoo'y nasa kaniyang banal na templo: tumahimik ang buong lupa sa harap niya.
