Hermandad de la Sta. Maria Magdalena de Bulusan
(MAGDALENA DE BULUSAN)
Lenten Image of Sta. James the Greater
Bulusan, Sorsogon, Philippines
Let this be our window to this recently-revived century-old tradition celebrating the faith of our ancestors and
their love for our hometown. Like us to receive updates as the revival unfolds. DISCLAIMER:
As this is but a virtual window to this devotion, and given the fact that many do not have access (or simply prefer not to have access) to the Internet or to any kind of online social networking - the number of "likes" is understandably fluid and will continue to either decrease or increase. There would thus appear to be two (2) Hermandad groups:
1. VIRTUAL - this one, where updates and pictures shall be posted
2. ACTUAL - the one envisioned to be ultimately SEC-registered for purposes of continuity, among others
THE ACTUAL GROUP:
To this would belong direct DESCENDANTS of the original camarero couple, the late "Maestro" Lupo Garcia y Frando and the former Juana Hubilla y Correa - the Lim Garcias of Bulusan. We strive to continue our family's more-than-a-century-old tradition of and commitment in bringing out the image of Sta. Maria Magdalena annually for the Holy Week activities back home. We acknowledge the fact that some of our relatives are now of faiths different from ours - but we do not see this as a reason not to treat them with utmost LOVE and RESPECT. We come from the family's various BRANCHES, namely:
1. Garcia
2. Felisa H. Garcia-Lazaro
3. Salvacion H. Garcia-dela Cruz
4. Juan H. Garcia
5. Mercedes H. Garcia-Tan
6. Miguel H. Garcia
7. Concepcion H. Garcia-Lagata
8. Jose H. Garcia
9. Paz H. Lim Garcia
10. Gloria H. Garcia-Galos
To the same group also belong kins from the Galias, Gabion, Gallarda, Correa, Hubilla, Ganzo, Fortea, and Frando clans--who, in one way or another, through the years, have been part of this tradition of faith. The Hermandad's roll of honorary membership would be composed of tested and proven devotees.
