𝗣𝗿𝗮𝘆𝗲𝗿 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗪𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻’𝘀 𝗦𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘆
Gracious and Liberating God, Creator of all people in Your image and likeness, today we lift our hearts in thanksgiving for the gift of women in our lives, in the church, and in the world. We thank You for their faith that perseveres, their wisdom that guides, their courage that speaks truth, and their love that sustains families, communities, and movements for justice.
On this International Women’s Sunday, we remember before You the countless women whose lives bear witness to both hope and struggle. We honor mothers and daughters, workers and leaders, caregivers and advocates, teachers and pastors—women whose quiet strength and steadfast commitment continue to nurture life and transform society.
Yet, O God of justice, we also bring before You the realities that many women still face.
We remember women who endure discrimination and exclusion.
Women who suffer violence in their homes, workplaces, and communities.
Women whose labor remains invisible and undervalued.
Women burdened by poverty, displacement, militarization, and injustice.
We pray for women within the church who faithfully serve Your people yet still encounter barriers to full recognition and leadership. Strengthen them, O God. Affirm their gifts and calling. May the church continue to be transformed into a community where the leadership, voices, and ministries of women are fully celebrated and affirmed.
We remember as well the women who stand at the forefront of struggles for justice and dignity—
women workers seeking fair wages and humane working conditions, women farmers and fisherfolks defending their lands and waters, indigenous women protecting their ancestral heritage, and women human rights defenders courageously standing for truth and freedom.
Sustain them, O God, in their courage and commitment.
Loving God, we offer this UCCP prayer for all women in the world:
May Your Spirit surround women everywhere with protection, strength, and hope.
May those who are weary find rest, those who are afraid find courage, and those who are oppressed find liberation.
May every woman and girl live in dignity, safety, and freedom, able to fully share in the life of the community and in the unfolding of Your reign of justice and peace.
Transform us, O God, as Your church. Teach us to walk in genuine solidarity with women. Break down the structures that perpetuate inequality and injustice. Help us build communities where mutual respect, shared leadership, and compassionate service flourish.
Empower us to continue the work of justice, peace, and the integrity of creation, so that the world You envision—a world of equality, dignity, and abundant life—may become a reality for all.
All these we pray in the name of Jesus Christ, who honored the faith of women, walked with them in ministry, and calls us to do the same.
