WHAT IF THE BIGGEST PROBLEM IN YOUR LIFE IS SOMETHING JESUS ALREADY FINISHED?
TETELESTAI - It is finished.
John 19:30 says that when Jesus had finished His work on the cross, He said these words before giving up His spirit.
And here’s something important:
Jesus didn’t say, "I am finished.”
He said, “It is finished.”
Because the cross was never a picture of Jesus losing. It was Jesus completing the mission.
But what exactly was finished?
The debt of sin was paid in full.
Every sin.
Every failure.
Every guilt we could never erase on our own.
The punishment we deserved was taken by Jesus. The price we could never afford was paid by Him. The separation sin created between us and God was no longer the end of the story.
Paid in full.
The debt was paid. Sin was dealt with. The way to God was opened. The work of redemption was accomplished.
Pero minsan, tayo yung parang hindi pa convinced.
We keep going back to our old failures.
“Lord, baka disappointed Ka sa’kin.”
“Maybe I’m not good enough anymore.”
“Baka kailangan ko munang ayusin buhay ko bago ako makalapit ulit kay God.”
But remember "Tetelestai"
You don’t have to finish what Jesus already finished.
You don’t have to earn a forgiveness that He already paid for.
You don’t have to perform for an acceptance that grace already gives.
You don’t have to carry a debt that Jesus already settled.
And no, this doesn’t mean we can live however we want. Actually, it’s the opposite.
When you realize how much Jesus has already done for you, you don’t obey because you’re trying to earn His love. You obey because you’ve already experienced it.
You don’t serve to prove that you’re worthy.
You serve because He was worthy enough to save you.
You don’t worship hoping that Jesus will win.
You worship because He already won.
You don’t walk with God trying to complete your salvation.
You walk with Him because He completed the work that you could never complete on your own.
So the next time your past tells you, “You’re still not enough,” remember the word Jesus left on the cross:
TETELESTAI.
Not “try harder.”
Not “figure it out.”
Not “earn your way back.”
IT IS FINISHED.
And sometimes, faith looks like finally resting in what Jesus has already done, then letting that finished work change the way you live.
The cross wasn’t Jesus’ defeat.
It was His declaration of victory.
