Nicodemus knew the Scriptures.
He was a Pharisee. A teacher. A respected religious leader.

And yet, when he came to Jesus, Jesus told him, โ€œYou must be born again.โ€

Hindi sinabi ni Jesus, โ€œYou need to know more.โ€
Hindi rin, โ€œYou need to become more religious.โ€

He pointed Nicodemus to something deeperโ€”a new birth that only God can give.

Maybe thatโ€™s why the phrase โ€œborn againโ€ can be easily misunderstood. It was never meant to simply become a religious label or group we identify with. It points to a new lifeโ€”a life transformed by God and lived in relationship with Him. ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿปโค๏ธโ€๐Ÿฉน

And what makes this conversation even more beautiful is that Nicodemusโ€™ story doesnโ€™t end in John 3.

His questions, his encounter, and even his response to Jesus leave us with something to wrestle with:

What if the question Jesus asked Nicodemus is also a question He is asking us today?

Not simply, โ€œDo you know about Me?โ€
But, โ€œ๐—›๐—ฎ๐˜ƒ๐—ฒ ๐˜†๐—ผ๐˜‚ ๐˜๐—ฟ๐˜‚๐—น๐˜† ๐—ฟ๐—ฒ๐—ฐ๐—ฒ๐—ถ๐˜ƒ๐—ฒ๐—ฑ ๐˜๐—ต๐—ฒ ๐—ป๐—ฒ๐˜„ ๐—น๐—ถ๐—ณ๐—ฒ ๐—œ ๐—ฎ๐—บ ๐—ผ๐—ณ๐—ณ๐—ฒ๐—ฟ๐—ถ๐—ป๐—ด ๐˜†๐—ผ๐˜‚?โ€ ๐Ÿฅน

So, with the help of the Holy Spirit, letโ€™s go back to that quiet conversation between Jesus and Nicodemus and discover what Jesus really meant when He said:

โ€œYou must be born again.โ€

When Jesus said, โ€œ๐—œ ๐˜„๐—ถ๐—น๐—น ๐—ฏ๐˜‚๐—ถ๐—น๐—ฑ ๐— ๐˜† ๐—ฐ๐—ต๐˜‚๐—ฟ๐—ฐ๐—ต, ๐—ฎ๐—ป๐—ฑ ๐˜๐—ต๐—ฒ ๐—ด๐—ฎ๐˜๐—ฒ๐˜€ ๐—ผ๐—ณ ๐—›๐—ฎ๐—ฑ๐—ฒ๐˜€ ๐˜„๐—ถ๐—น๐—น ๐—ป๐—ผ๐˜ ๐—ผ๐˜ƒ๐—ฒ๐—ฟ๐—ฐ๐—ผ๐—บ๐—ฒ ๐—ถ๐˜โ€ He wasn't describing a church that would simply hide, endure, or wait for the enemy to attack.

He was declaring the ๐˜ƒ๐—ถ๐—ฐ๐˜๐—ผ๐—ฟ๐˜†, ๐—ฎ๐˜‚๐˜๐—ต๐—ผ๐—ฟ๐—ถ๐˜๐˜†, ๐—ฎ๐—ป๐—ฑ ๐—ถ๐—ฑ๐—ฒ๐—ป๐˜๐—ถ๐˜๐˜† ๐—ผ๐—ณ ๐—›๐—ถ๐˜€ ๐—–๐—ต๐˜‚๐—ฟ๐—ฐ๐—ต.

But before we talk about the authority we've been given, there's a deeper question we need to answer:

๐–๐ก๐จ ๐๐จ ๐ฒ๐จ๐ฎ ๐ฌ๐š๐ฒ ๐‰๐ž๐ฌ๐ฎ๐ฌ ๐ข๐ฌ?

Because our understanding of ๐˜„๐—ต๐—ผ ๐—๐—ฒ๐˜€๐˜‚๐˜€ ๐—ถ๐˜€ will affect how we relate to Him, how we worship Him, and how we exercise the authority He has entrusted to us.

Peter was called Petrosโ€”a little stone. But the Church was built upon the ๐—ฅ๐—ผ๐—ฐ๐—ธ, Christ Himself. And that reminds us that even as we carry His authority, ๐˜„๐—ฒ ๐—ป๐—ฒ๐˜ƒ๐—ฒ๐—ฟ ๐—ผ๐—ฝ๐—ฒ๐—ฟ๐—ฎ๐˜๐—ฒ ๐—ฎ๐—ฝ๐—ฎ๐—ฟ๐˜ ๐—ณ๐—ฟ๐—ผ๐—บ ๐˜๐—ต๐—ฒ ๐—ข๐—ป๐—ฒ ๐˜„๐—ฒ ๐—ฟ๐—ฒ๐—ฝ๐—ฟ๐—ฒ๐˜€๐—ฒ๐—ป๐˜.

We are called to stand.
We are called to influence.
We are called to walk in the authority of Christ.

But most importantly, ๐˜„๐—ฒ ๐—ฎ๐—ฟ๐—ฒ ๐—ฐ๐—ฎ๐—น๐—น๐—ฒ๐—ฑ ๐˜๐—ผ ๐—ธ๐—ป๐—ผ๐˜„ ๐˜๐—ต๐—ฒ ๐—ž๐—ถ๐—ป๐—ด ๐˜„๐—ฒ ๐—ฟ๐—ฒ๐—ฝ๐—ฟ๐—ฒ๐˜€๐—ฒ๐—ป๐˜. ๐ŸคŽ

So, with the help of the Holy Spirit, let's go back to Matthew 16:18 and discover what Jesus meant when He said:

โ€œI will build My church, and the gates of Hades will not prevail against it.โ€

This reminds us that faith is not just about knowing Jesus through other people's stories. It's about knowing Him personally and having a real relationship with Him.

Kahit gaano kalaki ang challenges, trials, o attacks ng enemy, we can stand firm because Jesus is our solid foundation.

Minsan, we want God to show us everythingโ€”the destination, the turns, and the things ahead. We often even find ourselves praying, โ€œ๐—Ÿ๐—ผ๐—ฟ๐—ฑ, ๐˜€๐—ฎ๐—ฏ๐—ถ๐—ต๐—ถ๐—ป ๐— ๐—ผ ๐—ป๐—ฎ๐—บ๐—ฎ๐—ป ๐˜€๐—ฎ ๐—ฎ๐—ธ๐—ถ๐—ป ๐—ธ๐˜‚๐—ป๐—ด ๐—ฎ๐—ป๐—ผ๐—ป๐—ด ๐—ด๐—ฎ๐—ด๐—ฎ๐˜„๐—ถ๐—ป ๐—ธ๐—ผ.โ€

But what if God doesnโ€™t always show us the whole road?

Psalm 119:105 gives us a different picture.

๐—” ๐—น๐—ฎ๐—บ๐—ฝ ๐—ฑ๐—ผ๐—ฒ๐˜€๐—ปโ€™๐˜ ๐˜€๐—ต๐—ผ๐˜„ ๐˜†๐—ผ๐˜‚ ๐˜๐—ต๐—ฒ ๐—ฒ๐—ป๐˜๐—ถ๐—ฟ๐—ฒ ๐—ท๐—ผ๐˜‚๐—ฟ๐—ป๐—ฒ๐˜†. ๐—œ๐˜ ๐˜€๐—ถ๐—บ๐—ฝ๐—น๐˜† ๐—ด๐—ถ๐˜ƒ๐—ฒ๐˜€ ๐˜†๐—ผ๐˜‚ ๐—ฒ๐—ป๐—ผ๐˜‚๐—ด๐—ต ๐—น๐—ถ๐—ด๐—ต๐˜ ๐˜๐—ผ ๐—ธ๐—ฒ๐—ฒ๐—ฝ ๐˜„๐—ฎ๐—น๐—ธ๐—ถ๐—ป๐—ด.

Maybe Godโ€™s Word wonโ€™t always tell us everything we want to know.

But it will always give us what we need to ๐˜„๐—ฎ๐—น๐—ธ ๐—ณ๐—ฎ๐—ถ๐˜๐—ต๐—ณ๐˜‚๐—น๐—น๐˜† ๐˜„๐—ถ๐˜๐—ต ๐—›๐—ถ๐—บ. ๐ŸคŽ

And maybe thatโ€™s what trusting God looks like sometimes:
๐ง๐จ๐ญ ๐ค๐ง๐จ๐ฐ๐ข๐ง๐  ๐ญ๐ก๐ž ๐ฐ๐ก๐จ๐ฅ๐ž ๐ฐ๐š๐ฒ, ๐›๐ฎ๐ญ ๐ค๐ง๐จ๐ฐ๐ข๐ง๐  ๐‡๐ข๐ฌ ๐–๐จ๐ซ๐ ๐ข๐ฌ ๐ž๐ง๐จ๐ฎ๐ ๐ก ๐Ÿ๐จ๐ซ ๐ญ๐ก๐ž ๐ง๐ž๐ฑ๐ญ ๐ฌ๐ญ๐ž๐ฉ.

Letโ€™s discover the beauty and depth behind one of the most familiar verses in the Bible, with the help of the Holy Spirit, as we go back to Psalm 119:105.

Every second matters to Godโ€”not just the โ€œimportantโ€ moments, but even the ordinary ones. Sa pagkain, pag-inom, pagtatrabaho, pagpapahinga, pakikipag-usapโ€”every moment is an opportunity to honor Him.

Because if God has entrusted us with today, then our question shouldn't only be,
โ€œWhat will I do with tomorrow?โ€

But also:

โ€œLord, how can I honor You with the day You have given me?โ€ ๐Ÿค

May we never take today for granted.
The 24 hours we have today are a gift from a very generous God.

Today is a gift.
Today is an opportunity.
Today is an accountability before God.
