πŸ™ A Lenten Reminder

As we journey through this Lenten season, we are called to a time of reflection, prayer, and intentional sacrifice. One way we honor this tradition is through abstinence from meat on all Fridays of Lent.

By simplifying our meals, we make space to focus on what truly nourishes the soul. πŸ•ŠοΈ

βœ… What to Embrace:
Fresh Vegetables & Greens: Nature’s bounty to keep us energized.

Fish & Seafood: A traditional and hearty alternative.

Fruits, Nuts, & Grains: Simple, wholesome snacks and sides.

❌ What to Avoid:
All Poultry & Red Meat: Chicken, beef, pork, and other land-based meats.

Let us observe this Friday with a spirit of devotion and community. May your Lenten journey be one of growth and renewed faith.

PARISH LENTEN SCHEDULE 2026
As we begin the sacred Season of Lent, let us take part in the following Lenten activities and celebrations of our parish. This holy season is a special time of graceβ€”an opportunity for prayer, repentance, and spiritual renewal as we journey together as one family in Christ.
Let us walk this Lenten journey with Christ through prayer, fasting, and almsgiving, following the example of our patroness, Saint Mary Magdalene, whose heart was transformed by God’s mercy.

Happy Feast Day St. Valentine! ❀️β›ͺ️

While today is often celebrated with flowers and chocolates, we honor the deep, sacrificial love of St. Valentine, Priest and Martyr. His life reminds us that true love is rooted in faith, courage, and devotion to God.

Patronage: Love, Young People, Happy Marriages, and Epilepsy.

Beyond the cards and roses, St. Valentine was a man of immense bravery who stood firm in his faith and ministered to persecuted Christians under the Roman Empire.

"Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud." β€” 1 Corinthians 13:4

✨ Reflection
Today, let us pray for all couples, families, and those seeking their vocation. May we learn to love one another with the same selfless heart that St. Valentine showed.

"Gabos kaayon, Gabos may gibuhon." (Everything together, everyone with a mission.)

"You are the salt of the earth... You are the light of the world." ✨

As we gather for the 5th Sunday in Ordinary Time, we are reminded of our unique calling. Salt preserves and enhances; light guides and reveals. How are we sharing our "flavor" and "glow" with the community this week?

Join us tomorrow at the Parish of Saint Mary Magdalene as we reflect on these powerful words from Matthew 5:13.

A Heart of Courage and Faith: The Feast of St. Agatha πŸ•ŠοΈ
Today, February 5th, we join the universal Church and the Parish of Saint Mary Magdalene - PYM in honoring a woman of remarkable strength and unwavering devotion: Saint Agatha, Virgin and Martyr.

In a world that often asks us to compromise our values, St. Agatha stands as a timeless beacon of integrity. Despite facing immense trials and persecution, she held fast to her faith in Christ, proving that "the greatest courage is found in a heart that loves God above all."

✨ Who was St. Agatha?
Born in Sicily during the 3rd century, St. Agatha is the patron saint of breast cancer patients, nurses, and bellfounders. She is remembered for her purity and her refusal to renounce her faith even under the threat of torture.

πŸ“œ Reflection for Today
St. Agatha reminds us that we are never alone in our struggles. When we feel overwhelmed by the "fires" of life, we can look to her example of endurance and grace.

Let us pray for the courage to stand firm in our beliefs and to serve our community with the same love and dedication shown by the saints before us.
