BUHI ST. JOSEPH'S ACADEMY, INC.
Founded in 1947, Buhi St. Joseph's Academy, Inc. (BSJAI), formerly known as St. Joseph's Academy, is a private school located in San Pedro, Buhi, Camarines Sur. "Building the Youth, Building the Nation" is the institution’s philosophy.
Don Jose Eclarinal Noble’s lifelong dream came true with the institutionalization of BSJAI. A dream that drove him to drop out of law school at the University of Sto. Tomas (UST). To equip himself on the establishment of an educational institution, Don Noble pursued education courses at UST instead.
The BSJAI was initially launched in mid-year 1947 with only 96 students, ranging from first to the fourth year. It was situated in Mrs. Tecla Soler's home in San Buenaventura, Buhi, Camarines Sur (now the Mandel Bldg.). In 1955, Mr. Pablo Alhambra was the principal, and Don Jose Noble was the first school director.
After nearly a decade of operation, the school was relocated to its current location in San Pedro, Buhi, Camarines Sur owned by Mr. Maximo Agnes Noble. This is in response to the growing population of students and faculty and the physical, structural, and financial innovations.
As a private institution, BSJAI is registered under SEC NO. CN200803096 dated February 29, 2008 as a family corporation. Its junior high school and senior high school are recognized under Recognition No. 014 s. of 2008 by the Department of Education.
Meanwhile, its recently opened college programs’ Bachelor of Physical Education and Bachelor of Public Administration is recognized under Government Permit No. 11 s. 2020 of the Commission on Higher Education. This makes BSJAI the first private Higher Education Institution in the town of Buhi.
BSJAI celebrated its diamond jubilee last March 12–19, 2022, with the theme "We stride and rise at 75." In its 75 years as an educational institution, BSJAI continues to strive to provide quality education to Buhinëns and live up to it simply the best."
