Today we celebrate the memorial of Saint Bonaventure, Bishop and Doctor of the Church.

"Grant, we pray, almighty God, that, just as we celebrate the heavenly birthday of the Bishop Saint Bonaventure, we may benefit from his great learning and constantly imitate the ardor of his charity. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, for ever and ever."

𝗛𝗮𝗽𝗽𝘆 𝗙𝗲𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗦𝗮𝗻 𝗕𝘂𝗲𝗻𝗮𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗮 (Saint Bonaventure) today, 𝗝𝘂𝗹𝘆 𝟭𝟱! 🕊️

As a child, he was miraculously cured of a deadly sickness through the prayers of St. Francis of Assisi. He grew up to become a brilliant teacher and leader, but he stayed incredibly humble. In fact, when messengers came to give him his high-ranking Cardinal's hat, they found him washing dishes, and simply asked them to hang the hat on a tree until his hands were dry.

His life teaches us a beautiful lesson: 𝐚 𝐬𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐝 𝐢𝐬 𝐧𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐚 𝐥𝐨𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐭. Bonaventure believed that we can't truly understand the world or connect with God just by reading books. To him, real wisdom isn't about being the smartest person in the room; it is about 𝙠𝙞𝙣𝙙𝙣𝙚𝙨𝙨, 𝙥𝙧𝙖𝙮𝙚𝙧, and 𝙡𝙤𝙫𝙚 for others.

In our busy lives today, let’s worry less about always being "right" and focus more on being 𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗱. How can you share some love and "good fortune" with someone today? ❤️

In celebration of the upcoming Feast Day of our beloved patron, 𝗦𝗮𝗻 𝗕𝘂𝗲𝗻𝗮𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗮, the San Buenaventura Barangay Pastoral Council invites our young boys to walk in the footsteps of faith, humility, and wisdom!

This special activity aims to help our children appreciate and practice the wonderful Christian virtues exemplified by St. Bonaventure.

𝗪𝗵𝗼 𝗖𝗮𝗻 𝗝𝗼𝗶𝗻? (𝗠𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗰𝘀)
👦 𝐀𝐠𝐞 𝐑𝐞𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭: Open to all young boys aged 𝟰 𝘁𝗼 𝟵 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀 𝗼𝗹𝗱.
🎽 𝐀𝐭𝐭𝐢𝐫𝐞 All participants will wear the traditional habit of the Franciscan order.
📄 𝐑𝐞𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬: Submit a duly accomplished application form along with a non-refundable registration fee of ₱ 𝟭,𝟬𝟬𝟬.𝟬𝟬.
