📖 WHEN TRUTH MAKES ENEMIES

(Galatians 4:16)

🔰 INTRODUCTION

📖 Galatians 4:16 — “Am I therefore become your enemy, because I tell you the truth?”

In this present Dispensation of Grace, the message committed to the Apostle Paul is often rejected, resisted, and ridiculed. Rightly dividing the Word (2 Timothy 2:15) reveals truth—but truth also divides.

The preacher of grace must understand:
👉 Not everyone will receive the truth.
👉 Some will resist it—and even oppose you.
Yet, we are called to stand, speak, and stay faithful.

🔢 THE REALITY OF PREACHING TRUTH

1. ⚔️ TRUTH THAT DIVIDES
📖 2 Timothy 4:3–4

Doctrinal Division – Truth separates error
Discerning Difference – Right vs wrong teaching
Demand for Fables – People prefer lies
Departure from Truth – Turning away from sound doctrine
👉 Truth does not unite error—it divides it.

2. 🔥 TRUTH THAT DISTURBS
📖 Acts 13:45

Convicts Conscience – Exposes sin
Challenges Comfort – Breaks false security
Contradicts Tradition – Opposes religion
Creates Conflict – Stirs opposition
👉 People resist truth because it confronts their beliefs.

3. 🛡️ TRUTH THAT DEFENDS
📖 Philippians 1:17

Defense of Gospel – Stand for Paul’s message
Doctrinal Clarity – Guard the truth
Determined Stand – Be unwavering
Devoted Servant – Faithful to Christ
👉 The preacher must not only declare truth—but defend it.

4. 💔 TRUTH THAT DISPLEASES
📖 Galatians 1:10

Rejects People-Pleasing – Cannot serve both
Rebukes Error – Calls out false doctrine
Resisted Message – Not popular
Requires Boldness – Courage to speak
👉 If you please men, you cannot fully preach God’s truth.

5. 👑 TRUTH THAT DELIVERS
📖 Romans 1:16

Power of God – Gospel saves
Produces Faith – Leads to belief
Provides Salvation – To all who believe
Proclaims Grace – Not works
👉 Though rejected, truth still saves souls.

6. ⚖️ TRUTH THAT DISCERNS
📖 Hebrews 4:12

Searches Hearts – Reveals motives
Separates Thoughts – Right vs wrong
Sharp Sword – Piercing power
Spiritual Judgment – Discerns truth
👉 God’s Word exposes what is hidden—and people resist that.

7. 🌟 TRUTH THAT ENDURES
📖 2 Timothy 2:9

Cannot Be Bound – Word of God is free
Continues Forward – Despite opposition
Conquers Darkness – Light always wins
Crowned Faithfulness – Reward awaits
👉 Truth will outlast all opposition—it endures forever.

🧎 CONCLUSION

Preaching truth in this age will:
✔ Cost relationships
✔ Create opposition
✔ Cause misunderstanding
But remember:
📖 2 Timothy 4:2 — “Preach the word… in season, out of season…”
We are not called to be popular—we are called to be faithful.

📢 CALL TO ACTION

👉 STAND FOR TRUTH NO MATTER THE COST
🔥 Preach Boldly – (Acts 20:27)
📖 Study Rightly Divided – (2 Tim. 2:15)
🛡️ Stand Firm – (1 Cor. 16:13)
💬 Speak in Love – (Eph. 4:15)

💭 FINAL THOUGHTS

1️⃣ Truth may cost you friends—but gains God’s approval 👑
2️⃣ Not all rejection means failure—sometimes it means faithfulness 🔥
3️⃣ The gospel offends—but it also saves ✝️
4️⃣ Stand firm even when standing alone 🛡️
5️⃣ God honors those who rightly divide 📖
6️⃣ Opposition proves the message is powerful ⚡
7️⃣ Truth today, reward tomorrow in glory 🌟

Mahalaga ka.

She walked into the Roman arena where the wild beasts awaited her. She trembled not from fear but from joy. Her name was Vibia Perpetua. She was just 22, a young mother singing hymns as the crowd jeered and a lion, leopard and wild cow encircled her.

One of the beasts attacked, hurling her to the ground. She covered an exposed thigh with her bloody robe to preserve her modesty and groped in the dust for her hair pin so she could fix her disheveled hair.

And when a Roman executioner approached Perpetua with a sword, her last words before collapsing were aimed at her Christian companions: “Stand fast in the faith, and love you all one another and do not let our sufferings be a stumbling block to you.”

History remembers Perpetua because she kept a diary during her imprisonment entitled "The Passion of Perpetua and Felicity" (Felicity was a pregnant slave girl arrested with Perpetua). Her diary is one of the rare and oldest-surviving documents written by a Christian woman. The emotion in the diary is almost unbearable. Perpetua describes the pain of leaving her infant son, who she was still nursing. She describes a prison visit from her weeping father, who kissed her hands while pleading with her to renounce her faith.

A narrator picks up the story in the diary after Perpetua was sent to her death. He wrote in the diary that Perpetua’s faith was so inspiring it caused the prison’s warden to convert. The narrator also describes Perpetua's death. While she was imprisoned, Perpetua says God gave her visions to reassure her. After one, she wrote: “I understood that I should fight, not with beasts but against the devil."

If only we were so wise!
