IN PHOTOS: To cap-off the month of February, we, the Borongan CYF, held a Movie Night activity last February 28, 2026.

This time, we were able to watch the movie "David", an animated biblical musical film featuring the story of David from the book of Samuel from the Old Testament.

Prior to the movie watch, ice breakers games were played to ease into the activity and to welcome a couple of newcomers.

During the movie watch, snacks and cool beverages were served as we sat on the comforters laid out on the floor and watched the film as it was projected onto the wall.

To close, several CYFers shared their learnings, realizations, and key takeaways from the film.

David's story inspires us to trust in God's strength and not ours when faced with challenges and mountains that seem insurmountable. Courage and faith was exemplified through David's character, empowering each of us to rely not on our own strength and to hold fast in our faith and trust in the Lord Almighty when faced with our own metaphorical giants. Indeed, "If God is for us, who can be against us?" (Romans 8:31) In contrast, King Saul's prideful and self-absorbed character teaches us to humble ourselves and serves as a stark reminder that all glory and honor belongs to God alone and to check our hearts when God gives us victories and triumphs in life.🤍

Hey there, CYFs!

For the month of February, the CYF Borongan is holding a Heart's Day Celebration where we will be meditating on God's holy scriptures and diving deep into the biblical definition and example of what LOVE truly is. ❤️

We are inviting you all to join us as we celebrate and learn about God's unfailing, enduring, sustaining, and unconditional love for his people. Come as you are and bring a friend or two. We hope to see you there! May God Bless us all.

ICYMI: CYF Borongan Year-End Party

Often, we are told not to dwell in the past and instead to set our eyes to what's ahead of us. Contemporarily, the past has become associated with feelings of hurt and memories we'd rather forget and move on from. However, from a biblical standpoint, Psalm 77:11-12 tells us, “I will remember the deeds of the Lord; yes, I will remember your miracles of long ago. I will consider all your works and meditate on all your mighty deeds.” So, this year, as new waves of trials try to discourage you, remember how you have always been safely carried through and delivered from life's storms before by our eternally faithful Father in heaven. The future is truly uncertain, but we can rest assured that our God is sovereign, unchanging, and a God of all Ages. Remember, and so, rest assured.

IN PHOTOS: The Borongan Christian Youth Fellowship (CYF) successfully hosted a delightful and spiritually uplifting 'Fellowship Night' activity, closing out the month with a memorable evening of camaraderie and reflection.

As is tradition, the program commenced with a cheerful "Kamustahay" , where friendly greetings were exchanged throughout the venue, effectively helping everyone to settle in and set a warm, welcoming tone for the event.

The spiritual segment then began formally with a rousing Praise and Worship session led by our talented CYF Borongan Boys, filling the space with heartfelt music and setting a focused, reverent atmosphere.

To inject a bit of fun and foster connection, an engaging ice-breaker activity, "Samson and Delilah" led by Ms. Gelly Muring was conducted. This collaborative game provided laughter and an excellent opportunity for both new and long-time CYF's to interact and build stronger bonds.

The evening's main highlight soon followed with the introduction of the esteemed Guest Speaker, Rev. Hiram C. Ambida. He was warmly welcomed to the stage to share his wisdom.
The Reflection of the Message by Rev. Ambida was both powerful and profound. Referencing the profound passage of Philippians 3:12-14, he delivered a thought-provoking message titled "Forward Momentum." His central theme focused on the determined and deliberate pursuit of the Christian calling, detailing three essential principles for spiritual growth: Focus on the Purpose, Forget the Past, and Focus on the Heavenly Prize. His timely message resonated strongly with the youth, offering clear, actionable spiritual insight for their journeys.

A fantastic showcase of musical talent followed with the appearance of the Guest Artist, the Balangkayan Musical Team. Their masterful instrument playing and soulful harmonies graced the gathering, providing a beautiful interlude of high-quality music.

The energy ramped up with the highly anticipated Open Mic segment. Here, the youth wholeheartedly embraced the stage, displaying their diverse talents in singing, and playing instruments showcasing their passion and God given talents.

Finally, to formally draw the memorable evening to a close, a closing song was sung in unison, followed by a heartfelt prayer of thanksgiving, acknowledging the success of the fellowship and the blessings received.

To cap-off the month of September, we—the CYF Borongan—warmly invite you for a fun-filled ‘Fellowship Night’ this Saturday, September 27 @3:30pm, at UCCP Borongan.

This time, we are thrilled to announce that we are going to be graced by talents from the UCCP Balangkayan Music Team as our guest artists, and also be inspired from the wisdom of Rev. Hiram Ambida as our esteemed guest speaker for this occasion!
