A Prayer of Dedication to St. Anthony of Padua

As we welcome the last Tuesday of August before the “Ber” months, let us pause and entrust our hopes, needs, and intentions to St. Anthony of Padua, the beloved saint known for his powerful intercession.

Dear St. Anthony, pray for us. Help us find what we have lost—not only material things, but also our peace, hope, faith, and direction in life. Intercede for our families, our work, our finances, and the intentions we carry quietly in our hearts.

As August comes to an end, may we enter the “Ber” months with renewed faith and grateful hearts. May God guide our steps, protect our loved ones, and bless the days that are yet to come.

MENTAL HEALTH ALSO AFFECTS PRIESTS: BISHOP RESIGNS AMID THE WEIGHT OF PASTORAL RESPONSIBILITY

Bishop Karl-Heinz Wiesemann of the Diocese of Speyer in Germany has resigned at age 66, nearly a decade before the usual retirement age, with Pope Leo XIV accepting his resignation.

In a heartfelt letter to the faithful, Bishop Wiesemann shared that years of carrying extensive pastoral responsibilities had taken a serious toll on him physically and mentally. He revealed that he had been treated for recurrent depressive disorder, with the difficult work of processing sexual abuse cases in his diocese becoming an immediate trigger.

His story reminds us of an important truth: mental health struggles can also affect priests, bishops, and other Church leaders. Behind the vestments and responsibilities are human beings who can become exhausted, wounded, and overwhelmed.

Let us pray for Bishop Wiesemann’s healing, for all priests and bishops carrying heavy pastoral burdens, and for everyone struggling with mental health. May the Lord grant them strength, peace, healing, and the grace to seek the help they need.

Our priests and bishops need our prayers—not only when they are strong, but especially when they are struggling. 🙏

May St. Bartholomew inspire us to follow Christ with courage, sincerity, and unwavering faith. Like the Apostles, may we never be afraid to proclaim the Good News and remain faithful to Jesus wherever He calls us.

Last August 22, 2026, our parish community gathered in faith and devotion for the Solemn Procession of Sta. Monica and San Agustin, honoring these beloved saints through a prayer and a solemn procession.

The procession served as a meaningful expression of our faith, bringing the faithful together as one community and reminding us of the importance of prayer, perseverance, and devotion in our Christian journey.

May the examples of Sta. Monica and San Agustin continue to inspire us to remain steadfast in faith, committed to prayer, and faithful in our service to God and to one another.

MONDAY PRAYER

Heavenly Father, as I begin this new week, I place everything into Your loving hands. Guide my thoughts, words, decisions, and actions. Give me the strength to face every challenge, the wisdom to make the right choices, and the courage to keep moving forward even when the path becomes difficult.

Lord, bless my family, friends, work, studies, and all the intentions I carry in my heart. May this Monday be a fresh beginning—a reminder that Your grace is renewed each day.

When I feel tired, be my strength.
When I feel lost, be my guide.
When I feel worried, be my peace.
When I feel discouraged, remind me that I am never alone.

May this week bring opportunities for growth, blessings to be grateful for, and moments that draw me closer to You.

Lord, walk with me this Monday and throughout the entire week. May Your will be done in my life. Amen. 🙏❤️
