๐ GOSPEL OF THE DAY
St Mark 12:13โ17
+++
The Pharisees and Herodians tried to trap Jesus by asking if it is lawful to pay taxes to Caesar. Jesus asked for a coin and said:
โRender to Caesar the things that are Caesarโs, and to God the things that are Godโs.โ
๐ SHORT REFLECTION
Jesus teaches a deep truth:
We have duties in this world (civil responsibilities)
But we also have greater duty to God (our whole life belongs to Him)
The coin bears Caesarโs imageโbut we bear Godโs image (Genesis 1:27), so our lives ultimately belong to God.
๐ SHORT PRAYER
+++โ๏ธ
Lord Jesus,
teach us to give to the world what belongs to the world, and to You what belongs to Youโour hearts, our faith, and our whole life.
Help us to live with honesty, wisdom, and love in all our responsibilities.
May we always remember that we belong to You.
Amen.
Our Father..
Hail Mary..
Glory be..
