On August 26, a catastrophic flash flood and debris flow struck communities along Nepal’s Himalayan river systems, leaving hundreds dead, hundreds still missing, and homes and vital infrastructure devastated. Rescue teams continue searching for survivors while affected communities face the possibility of further flooding.
Today, let us pause and pray for Nepal.
Pray for those who have lost loved ones and everything they have. Pray for those still waiting for news of family and friends. Pray for the rescue workers searching through dangerous conditions, and for those providing emergency care and relief.
Most of all, may God be near to those who are grieving, afraid, displaced, and hurting. May He give strength to the rescuers, comfort to the families, provision to the affected communities, and hope in the midst of devastation.
