Before asking God for another blessing, have you thanked Him for the blessings you already have?
Sometimes, we are so focused on what we still need that we forget to appreciate what God has already done.
In Luke 17, ten lepers asked Jesus to heal them. They were suffering and had been separated from their families and community. Jesus healed all ten, but only one came back to thank Him.
He stopped, went back to Jesus, and fell at His feet.
Psalm 103:2 — “Forget not all his benefits.”
Sometimes, we are like a phone. When the battery is low, we immediately look for a charger. In the same way, when we have problems, we quickly run to God.
“Lord, help me.”
“Lord, provide for me.”
“Lord, give me strength.”
But when things get better, we sometimes forget to say, “Lord, thank You.”
We should not remember God only when we need something. We should remember Him every day.
1 Thessalonians 5:18 — “Give thanks in all circumstances.”
Being thankful doesn't mean that everything in life is perfect. It means that even in difficult times, we can still say, “God is good.”
Think about a book. Sometimes, we are in a difficult chapter and wonder why things are happening. But God sees the whole story.
Don't let one difficult chapter make you forget God's faithfulness.
Look back at your life. There were moments when you thought you couldn't make it, but you did.
Maybe you thought you were strong enough.
Maybe you thought you were lucky.
But sometimes, when we look back, we realize:
“God was the One who carried me.”
The nine received the miracle, but the one who returned remembered the One who gave the miracle.
So don't become so focused on the blessing that you forget the Blesser.
When God provides, thank Him.
When God answers, thank Him.
And even when you are still waiting, thank Him.
Colossians 3:15 — “And be thankful.”
Let your gratitude be more than words. Let it show in the way you live, love, forgive, and treat others.
Maybe today, stop for a moment and think about what God has already done for you.
You may not have everything you want, but you have many reasons to say:
“Lord, thank You.”
Psalm 107:1 — “Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; his love endures forever.”
Life may not always be perfect, but God is still good.
So remember His goodness, thank Him for His blessings, and never forget the One who blessed you.
Don't just remember the blessing. Remember the Blesser. 🙏🏻🙏🏻
