The Gospel Team
Read Philippians 1:1 through 4:23

It is great to be on a winning team. There’s nothing like working together with a group of people to accomplish more than we could as individuals. TEAM is a common acronym for Together Everyone Accomplishes More.

Paul was thankful for his “team” at Philippi.

I thank my God every time I remember you . . . because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now (Philippians 1:3,5).

Paul viewed the people at Philippi as his partners in spreading the message of Jesus Christ. From the very first day he went to Philippi and they believed, they helped him spread the gospel. They prayed for him, sup ported him, and encouraged him.

God has designed the Church to work together in spreading the name of Christ. Just like Paul had a team at Philippi, every local church should work as a team. God has given different gifts to different people so local churches can reach as many people as possible. It’s great to be a part of God’s team.

CHALLENGE FOR TODAY: Find your place on God’s team and see what He can do through you.

Only Through Jesus
Read Ephesians 1:1 through 3:21

When Virginia needed transportation to an appointment, Debby volunteered to take her. Through the years their friendship blossomed and eventually their conversations included spiritual concerns.

When Debby talked about heaven, Virginia’s comment was always the same: “I hope I’m good enough to go to heaven.” Debby explained that it was impossible to earn a place in heaven. It was only through Jesus’ death, resurrection, and offer of salvation that anyone could enter heaven.

For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast (Ephesians 2:8–9).

Virginia is now in her mid-nineties. When asked about going to heaven, she no longer says, “I hope I’m good enough to go,” because Virginia now has assurance that through her acceptance of Jesus Christ she can say with a certainty, “I know I will go to heaven.”

You, too, can have that assurance. If you have not accepted Jesus’ offer of salvation, do so today.

THOUGHT FOR TODAY: With Jesus all things are possible.

MEMORY VERSE AND DAILY BIBLE READING (September 7-13, 2026):
Ephesians 4:29
Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouth, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.
任何壞話都不可出口,而是按著需要說造就人的好話,使聽的人得到益處。
Huwag kayong magsasalita ng masama kundi iyong makabubuti at angkop sa sitwasyon para maging kapaki-pakinabang sa nakakarinig.
