RETHINK WEEK 2
MAYBE LESS IS ACTUALLY MORE
📖 Luke 12:13–21

This Sunday, we were reminded that life is not measured by how much we own, but by where we place our trust.

Jesus told the story of a rich man who had an abundant harvest. He had more than enough, more crops, bigger barns, and plans for many years ahead. Yet in the middle of his abundance, he missed what mattered most. His problem wasn’t that he had much. His problem was believing that what he had could give him the security only God can give.

We can have more money, more possessions, more opportunities, and more plans for the future and still have an empty heart. Because you can fill your hands with more, while your heart becomes empty.

The Gospel points us to a better kind of wealth. Jesus, though rich, gave Himself for us so that we could become rich toward God, rich in grace, faith, hope, generosity, and a relationship with Him.

So this week, don’t just ask, “What more do I need?” Ask, “What am I asking these things to give me that only Christ can provide?”

Because true security isn’t found in what we can accumulate.
Our security is found in Christ.

You can fill your hands with more, while your heart becomes empty.
But when Christ is enough, you don’t need more to know that you are secure.

GET TO KNOW THE PEOPLE AROUND YOU 👥

📖 Proverbs 22:3
“The prudent see danger and take refuge, but the simple keep going and pay the penalty.”

Wisdom is not only knowing what is right. Wisdom also knows what to stay away from.

The people you consistently listen to, spend time with, and imitate will eventually influence who you become.

Kaya choose your influence wisely.

Point them to the right path. Proverbs 22:6 reminds us of the responsibility to teach and guide others in God’s way.

Don’t let fear keep you from doing what is right.

Choose your people. Guard your influence. Point others to God. And walk courageously in His way.

Because sometimes, wisdom is knowing who to walk with, what path to avoid, and when to stand for what is right.

RETHINK — AUGUST WK 1
MAYBE YOUR HEART ISN’T THE BEST GUIDE ❤️‍🩹

📖 Matthew 16:24–26

This Sunday, we began RETHINK by challenging one of the most common beliefs we hear: “Follow your heart.”

But Jesus gives us a different invitation: “Follow Me.”

Our hearts have desires, but not every desire deserves to lead us. Like Esau, we can exchange something eternal for something temporary when our appetites become more important than what God has entrusted to us.

The question isn’t simply, “What do I want?”
It’s “What does Jesus want?”

Because the best life isn’t found in following every desire
it’s found in surrendering our hearts to Jesus.

And the Gospel gives us hope: where we have failed to choose obedience, Jesus perfectly chose the Father’s will—even when it meant the cross. He doesn’t just forgive our wrong choices; He gives us a new heart that can learn to treasure what He treasures.

If you always follow your heart, your heart will eventually lead you away from the One who gave it.

This week, let’s rethink what leads our lives.
Don’t just follow your heart. Follow Jesus.

2 CORINTHIANS 5:17
“If anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here.”

You are a new creation.

Receive your new identity. Live from your new life. Represent Christ with your life.

The old is gone. The new has come. In Christ, your past is not your final chapter.

FORMED WEEK 2 | WHAT WISDOM LOOKS LIKE

This Sunday, we were reminded that true wisdom isn’t recognized by what you know, but by the life it produces.

In Proverbs 10–31, Solomon shifts from inviting us to pursue wisdom to showing us what wisdom actually looks like. It becomes visible in the way we speak, make decisions, handle pressure, work with integrity, love our families, and honor God in our everyday lives.

The Gospel reminds us that Jesus didn’t save us simply to fill our minds with truth, but to transform our hearts by His Spirit. As we walk with Christ, wisdom is no longer just something we learn, it becomes something people can see.

May we not measure our spiritual growth by how much Scripture we know, but by how much our lives reflect Jesus.

“Wisdom isn’t something you simply learn. It’s something people eventually see.”

Devotion | Whel Henrie

Matthew 6:33
“But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.”

When God is first, everything else finds its proper place.

WHO’S SHAPING YOUR LIFE?
Proverbs 8–9

Every day, someone’s influencing you.

Your friends. Your feed. Your favorite creators. The culture around you.

The question isn’t “Are you being influenced?”
The question is “Who’s shaping you?”

Sunday Recap
1. Let God Define Your Life
Don’t let culture define what’s right, successful, or worth chasing. Let God’s Word be your standard before the world becomes your influence.

2. Choose the Table That Shapes Your Future
Everyone is sitting at a table. The content you consume, the conversations you entertain, and the voices you keep listening to are shaping who you’re becoming.

This Week’s Challenge
📖 Start your day with God’s Word before your social media feed.
🤔 Before making a decision, ask: “What does God say about this?”
👥 Audit the voices in your life. Are they leading you closer to Jesus or pulling you away from Him?

Remember:
Before your decisions shape your future, the voices you trust shape your decisions.

The voices you continually welcome into your life will eventually shape the person you become. So let God define your life, and let Christ shape your future.
