Everyday Prayer to Saint Mary of Bethany

Saint Mary of Bethany,
you who sat at the feet of Jesus and listened with a heart full of love,
teach me to choose what is better each day—
to be still, to listen, and to love.

You welcomed the Lord into your home with faith and reverence.
Help me welcome Him into every moment of my life—
in prayer, in service, and in silence.

You anointed Jesus with costly perfume,
pouring out your love without counting the cost.
Help me give generously of myself,
offering my time, my gifts, and my heart in service of God and others.

Dear Saint Mary,
when I am anxious like Martha, remind me to pause.
When I am weary, bring me to the feet of Jesus.
When I am full of love, teach me to express it with courage and humility.

Pray for me today,
that I may grow in faith, deepen in prayer,
and remain always close to the Lord whom you loved so dearly.

Amen.

Antiphon. Jesus loved Martha and Mary and their brother Lazarus.

+Lord Jesus, master, Mary listened to your words while Martha served your needs,
-help us to serve you with love and devotion
(Response) Come, Lord Jesus.¹

Mary took a pound of costly perfume
and anointed the feet of Jesus.
- And Martha served at table.²

Let us pray,
Lord,
Pour upon us the spirit of wisdom and love with which you filled your servant Saint Mary of Bethany by serving you as she did, may we please you with our faith and our actions.
Grant this through our Lord Jesus Christ your Son, who lives and reign with You with the Holy Spirit, one God for ever and ever. Amen.³

Remember now the danger that surrounds me in the valley of tears and troubles (mention your petition). Ceased not to intercede for me until my request is granted.

Oh glorious Saint Mary of Bethany obtain for me all the graces that I need and grant me the courage to imitate you, a faithful servant and follower of Christ. Amen.
