On the road to Emmaus, Jesus’ weary disciples encounter the risen Christ. But they are kept from recognizing him until Jesus breaks bread with them. These disciples are forever changed by this encounter. Jesus points the Scriptures to himself and reignites their hope in the Messiah. Practice slowing down this week and take Communion on your own at least once right before a meal. Pray for our Lord Jesus to continue to be revealed and transfigured before you as he truly is. May you learn to live as one who has seen the Lord, walking in resurrection hope and sharing his peace.
