SUNDAY READINGS | SOLEMNITY OF THE ASCENSION OF THE LORD | Before ascending into heaven, Jesus reminded His disciples that they would receive power through the Holy Spirit. Today, the youth are called to trust that same Spirit who helps us rise above struggles, make good choices, and become witnesses of hope and love in our generation.

Today, we celebrate and honor our mothers.

We thank them for the love that never gives up, the sacrifices made in silence, the prayers whispered for their families, and the strength they continue to show every single day.

Like Mary, our Blessed Mother, they remind us what faithful, gentle, and selfless love looks like.

May God bless and strengthen all mothers today and always.

Through the Holy Spirit received by the believers in the First Reading, the courage encouraged by St. Peter, and Jesus’ promise to remain with His disciples in the Gospel, we are called to continue living with hope, love, and faithfulness.

Today’s readings remind us that we are not a lost generation—we are a generation being led.

In the Gospel, Jesus the Good Shepherd calls His sheep by name and leads them to abundant life. As young people, may we learn to recognize His voice amid the noise of the world and courageously follow where He leads.

In the First Reading, hearts were moved to respond to God’s call. In the Psalm, we trust in the Shepherd who guides and protects us. In the Second Reading, we are reminded that even when we stray, Christ always brings us back.

May we be youth who walk with the Shepherd and help lead others closer to Him.
