THE SOLEMN EUCHARISTIC CELEBRATION AND RITE OF COMMISSIONING AND INVESTITURE 2026

With great joy and thanksgiving to Almighty God, the Ministry of Altar Servers of the Bayombong Cathedral cordially invites everyone to witness and pray with us during the Solemn Eucharistic Celebration and Rite of Commissioning and Investiture.

On the Feast of St. James the Great, Apostle, 25 July 2026, 32 aspiring members will be officially commissioned and invested as altar servers, answering God's call to serve faithfully at His altar.

The Solemn Eucharistic Celebration will begin at 9:00 AM at the Cathedral Parish of Saint Dominic de Guzman, Bayombong, and will be presided over by Reverend Monsignor Johnny E. Valdez, Rector of the Bayombong Cathedral.

Let us come together as one community in prayer and thanksgiving as we celebrate this significant milestone in the lives of our new altar servers. May their commitment inspire more young people to answer Christ's call with generous and faithful hearts.

Feast of St. Charbel Makhlouf

Today we celebrate the Feast of St. Charbel Makhlouf, an intercessor and witness to humble faith. known as “The Miracle Monk of Lebanon,” St. Charbel dedicated himself to a life of humble solitude, devout prayer, and spirituality, bringing many people closer to God with his miraculous deeds, even before his death.

His silent prayer inspires us to realize that real strength comes from simplicity, prayer, and humble surrender. Whatever challenges or burdens weigh you down today, pray to St. Charbel to intercede for your healing and spiritual revival.

Feast of St. Sharbel Makhlouf

The Bayombong Cathedral will joyfully celebrate the Feast of St. Sharbel Makhlouf, Monk and Priest of Lebanon, on Friday, July 24, 2026.

The Holy Mass will be presided over by Most Rev. Jose Elmer I. Mangalinao, D.D. at 6:00 PM.

We warmly invite everyone to join us in prayer as we honor St. Sharbel and seek his powerful intercession. May this celebration deepen our faith and draw us closer to God through the example and prayers of this holy saint.

Chosen to be the first witness of the Lord's Resurrection, she proclaimed with conviction the Good News, becoming an enduring example of faith, hope, and unwavering devotion.

As we strive to live our mission of All for Jesus, may we imitate her courage in following Christ, her steadfast love for the Lord, and her willingness to share His message with others. May her witness inspire us to remain faithful in our service and joyful in proclaiming the Gospel through our words and actions.

O Mother of Perpetual Help, grant that I may ever invoke thy most powerful name, which is the safeguard of the living and the salvation of the dying. O purest Mary, O sweetest Mary, let thy name henceforth be ever on my lips. Delay not, O Blessed Lady, to help me, whenever I call on thee; for, in all my temptations, in all my needs, I shall never cease to call on thee, ever repeating thy sacred name, Mary, Mary.

O what consolation, what sweetness, what confidence, what emotion, fill my soul when I utter thy sacred name, or even only think of thee. I thank the Lord for having given thee, for my good so sweet, so powerful, so lovely a name. But I will not be content with merely uttering thy name. Congratulations Bishop Nick!

𝐃𝐎𝐌𝐈𝐍𝐄, 𝐓𝐔𝐔𝐒 𝐒𝐔𝐌

On May 3 of this year of Our Lord, Most Rev. Nick A. Vaquilar, S.Th.D, D.D., was appointed as the 4th Bishop of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Urdaneta by our Holy Father, Pope Leo XIV.

Today, let us join him as he officially start his Episcopal Journey through his Episcopal Ordination at the Archdiocesan Shrine of Nuestra Señora de la Caridad in Bantay, Ilocos Sur.

We ask for the intercession of Nuestra Señora de la Caridad de Bantay, and the mercy and grace of Señor Santo Cristo Milagroso de Sinait, that they guide Bishop Nick with grace, strength, and divine wisdom as he journeys the path of Episcopacy.
