ASSUMPTA EST MARIA | Today, we joyfully celebrate the Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary and the Fiesta of Nuestra Señora de la Asuncion - Ang Mahal nga Patrona sa Diyosesis sa Maasin.

As Mary was assumed body and soul into the glory of heaven, may her triumph remind us of the promise of eternal life and inspire us to remain faithful to God amidst every trial.

“Mary has been taken up to heaven; the angels rejoice, giving praise to God.”

May the Blessed Virgin Mary, our Mother and Patroness of our Diocese, continue to intercede for the people of the Diocese of Maasin and guide us closer to her Son, Jesus Christ.

Alleluia! He is Risen!

As we joyfully celebrate Easter Sunday, the glorious resurrection of our Lord, Jesus Christ. After the sorrow and silence of the past days, the light of Christ shines forth, bringing hope, renewal, and victory over sin and death.

The empty tomb reminds us that love is stronger than death and that God’s promise of salvation is fulfilled. May the risen Christ fill our hearts with peace, strengthen our faith, and inspire us to live as witnesses of His love.

Let us rejoice and proclaim with glad hearts:

Christ is risen! Alleluia!

MAY THE SILENCE OF BLACK SATURDAY BRING YOU PEACE

Black Saturday is a day wrapped in silence—a silence that feels heavy, uncertain, and yet deeply sacred. It is the day between sorrow and joy, between death and resurrection. When we reflect on the words, “May the silence of Black Saturday bring you peace,” we are invited to enter into that stillness, not as emptiness, but as a space where God quietly works within us.

On this day, the world seems to pause. The noise of celebration is absent, and even the grief of Good Friday settles into a quiet waiting. It is the silence of the tomb, where Jesus lay after His sacrifice on the Cross. To many, silence can feel uncomfortable. It can remind us of loss, confusion, or unanswered questions. Yet, Black Saturday teaches us that silence is not meaningless—it is full of hidden hope.

In our own lives, we experience “Black Saturday moments”—times when we feel stuck between pain and healing, between prayer and answers, between endings and new beginnings. These are the moments when God may seem distant, when His voice is not easily heard. But just as the tomb was not the end of Jesus’ story, our moments of silence are not the end of ours.

The silence of Black Saturday invites us to trust. It calls us to believe that even when nothing seems to be happening, God is still at work. Beneath the stillness, something greater is unfolding. The resurrection is already near, even if we cannot yet see it.

This sacred quiet also gives us the chance to rest in God’s presence. Without distractions, we can simply be with Him—bringing our fears, our doubts, and our hopes into His silence. In that stillness, we may begin to find a different kind of peace—not the absence of problems, but the quiet assurance that we are not alone.

As we wait in the silence of Black Saturday, we are reminded that peace does not always come in loud victories or clear answers. Sometimes, it comes gently, in the quiet spaces of our hearts, where God whispers His promise of new life.

May the silence of Black Saturday bring you peace—not an empty silence, but a sacred one, filled with hope, trust, and the quiet promise that resurrection is coming.
