Today, we celebrate two significant events in the life of the Franciscan community and the Church. 🌟

We honor the birthday of Blessed Mother Teresia Bonzel, a remarkable woman of faith and compassion who dedicated her life to serving others through love, prayer, and humility. Her legacy continues to inspire many to live a life of service and devotion to God. 🙏

We also commemorate the Feast of the Stigmata of Saint Francis of Assisi, a profound moment when Saint Francis received the sacred wounds of Christ, a testament to his deep love and complete union with the suffering of Jesus. This miraculous event reminds us of the power of selfless love, sacrifice, and spiritual transformation. ✝️

As we reflect on these celebrations, may we be inspired to grow in faith, live with compassion, and follow the example of Blessed Mother Teresia Bonzel and Saint Francis of Assisi in bringing peace and love to the world. 🌍✨

With faith and hope in the Resurrection, our beloved Sister Grace was called home to the Lord at 2:30 AM today, August 19, 2025. She entered eternal rest peacefully.

We now take a moment to reflect on her remarkable life and give thanks for the many gifts she shared with us. Sister Grace lived her life as a faithful servant of God, touching countless lives with her genuineness and loving care.

With her quiet strength and humble spirit, she was entrusted with a significant role for our congregation, becoming one of the first Filipina OSF sisters to serve as a General Councilor. Her love for our foundress led her to the humble privilege of assisting in the beatification process of Blessed Maria Theresia Bonzel while in Germany. She also demonstrated her deep love for our shared history by co-authoring the first two volumes of the Philippine Province's History Books.

Through her gentle leadership as a school principal at St. Joseph College, Maasin City, Holy Cross College of Carigara, and Franciscan College of the Immaculate Conception, she nurtured and inspired generations of students and teachers.

We are forever grateful for her life of dedicated service and her faithful witness to the love of Christ.

We invite you to join us in prayer and remembrance. A Novena for the Soul of Sister Grace will be held every evening at 8:00 PM at the Sacred Heart Convent, Baybay City, Leyte, followed by the celebration of the Holy Mass.

The Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at 2:00 PM at the FCIC School Chapel, Baybay City, Leyte. Following the mass, she will be laid to rest at the Sisters' Cemetery.

May our dear Sister Grace, rest in peace.
