Usually, when we think about God being our judge, we think about being judged. Isaiah reminds us that because God is our judge, he will judge us according to his will, his rules, and his grace. Have you ever thought about how many good friends you might have missed out on because of how you first saw them? I can't believe that the first thing we think about someone doesn't tell us very much about them. We won't really know how to judge people until the Lord shows us what's really in their hearts at the judgment. Don't you think we should let them show us what's in their hearts before we decide what to do with them? Let's not just look at what's on the surface!

James says the same thing that Jesus did when he told us to put into practice what we had learned from him. Once we know the truth of God's word, there is only one thing left to do: put it into practice!

Even though the road ahead may be full of questions and worries, we can look back and see all the ways God has helped us get where we need to be. But more than just us, we can see his work in history, so we know his promises are true and that he will win in us.

We are told to love those who are unloved, forgotten, abused, or ignored. Why? Because that's how Israel was in Egypt, that's how Jesus was on the cross, and that's how we were before God's grace (Romans 5:6-11). How can we say we have salvation if we don't tell others who need it? How can we say we are followers of Jesus if we don't love those the world forgets?

God knows each of us by name, even though the universe is huge and full of billions and billions of stars and our tiny blue planet is just a tiny speck of sand on a huge beach. This information seems too good to be true, but it is. God has shown us his love through Jesus to show us that he not only knows us, but also cares about us and wants us to be with him.
