Tomorrow, we celebrate the Assumption of Our Lady, honoring the truth that Mary was taken up body and soul into heavenly glory at the end of her earthly life.

Mary is honored as the New Ark of the Covenant (Psalm 132:8) and the Woman clothed with the sun (Rev 12:1). As the sinless Virgin (Luke 1:28), she uniquely shares in Christ's victory over death (1 Cor 15:22โ€“23).

On November 1, 1950, Pope Pius XII solemnly defined the Assumption as an ๐’Š๐’๐’‡๐’‚๐’๐’๐’Š๐’ƒ๐’๐’† ๐’…๐’๐’ˆ๐’Ž๐’‚ of faith in Munificentissimus Deus, confirming what the Church has believed for centuries.
Maryโ€™s Assumption gives us a preview of our own heavenly hope, showing us where Christ's faithful will one day follow.
