The Memorial of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of the Church, reminds us that through Jesusโ act of entrusting at the foot of the Cross, Mary became not only the Mother of Christ, but also the Mother of all the faithful and of the whole Church.
Though the title โMother of the Churchโ has long been honored throughout Christian tradition, Pope Francis officially established this memorial in 2018 to be celebrated every Monday after Pentecost, reminding the faithful that the Church, born through the Holy Spirit, continues to be guided under the loving care of our Blessed Mother.
Mary teaches us to remain faithful even in times of suffering and uncertainty. Her steadfast โyesโ to God became a witness of courage, humility, and enduring faith.
As Mother of the Church, may she continue to guide us closer to Christ and help us remain firm in faith, hope, and love.
โBehold, your mother.โ (Jn. 19:27)
