For our devotion, we read Luke 21:5โ19. In this passage, Jesus warned His disciples about the difficult things that would come. He spoke about persecution, rejection, and the challenges they would face because of His name. Yet even in the middle of these warnings, Jesus reminded them not to be afraid and to remain faithful.
Minsan, we may think that following God means that everything will always be easy. But Luke 21 reminds us that there will be moments when our faith is tested. There may be times when we are misunderstood, rejected, or pressured because of what we believe. Hindi ibig sabihin na kapag nahihirapan tayo, iniwan na tayo ng Diyos.
Instead, Jesus reminds us to remain steadfast. He tells His disciples that even when they are hated because of His name, they should stand firm. Our faith is not only shown when everything is going well, but also in the moments when choosing to follow Christ becomes difficult.
As we go through this week, may we remember that difficulties should not make us give up on our faith. When we face rejection, pressure, or discouragement, may we continue to stand firm and trust God. We may not always understand why certain things happen, but we can hold on to His promise and remain faithful to Him.
