Pray for us!π

It's hard to check on the updates these times without reading or hearing about another catastrophic event set off by natural causes: Storms brought by the Super and; all other cathastrophic events happening around the globe.
Sadly, these devastating events take an all too real toll on human life. While many of these disasters are unavoidable, some of them may be linked to human activity.
In these trying times, may we turn in prayer to the patrons against typhoon who have gone before us.
May we also be reminded that praying to themβ or, for that matter, to anyone in heaven doesn't equate to forgetting God as the Supreme Being. Actually, asking the saints to pray for us means letting them intercede on our behalf with God. And this connects us to a core belief of our Catholic faith: our communion with the living and the dead.
Below are some of the Patrons against Typhoon:
ST. MEDARD
Saint Medardus is the patron saint of the weather, vineyards, brewers, captives and prisoners, the mentally ill, peasants and sterility. And because he liked to laugh, his intercession is also called upon for toothaches.
Legend has it that when he was a boy, Medard was once sheltered from the rain by a hovering eagle, which is his most common depiction in art. This led to the saintβs patronage of good weather.
NUESTRA SEΓORA DE ARANZAZU
Our Lady of Aranzazu (Nuestra SeΓ±ora de Aranzazu) is a Roman Catholic title of the image of the Blessed Virgin Mary venerated in San Mateo, Rizal, Philippines. The image is widely known due to claims of miraculous healing and flood safety. It further retained its standing posture despite the controversy of its original image in OΓ±ati, Spain being seated. Pope Francis granted the image a Canonical coronation on 31 May 2017.
ST. FLORIAN
Because he was killed by drowning, Saint Florian is also often sought out as protector against the dangers of water including drowning and flooding.
ST. MARGARET OF HUNGARY
She was a princess whose parents promised her to God in thanksgiving for repelling an enemy invasion. They had placed her in a convent, which she would not consent to leave. As an act of penance she refused to bathe and tended the hopelessly sick. Her father built her a convent of her own on an small island in the middle of the Danube River. Whenever it was threatened with flooding, she protected it with prayer.
ST. JOHN NEPOMOCENE
In his early childhood, John Nepomucene was cured of a disease through the prayers of his good parents. In thanksgiving, they consecrated him to the service of God. He was tortured. The king ordered to be thrown into the river. Where he drowned, a strange brightness appeared upon the water. He is known as the "martyr of the confessional." He is patron of Czechoslovakia, where he is invoked against floods and against slander.
