As Super Typhoon Fung-wong (Uwan) bears down on Luzon, the hearts of millions brace for what may come. The swirling winds and relentless rains remind us of the raw power of nature—but also of the deeper truth that even the fiercest storms cannot outmatch the resilience and faith of the human spirit.

Still the winds, Lord, and command the seas to be calm.
When the storm has passed, bring light to the darkness and hope to those who mourn.
We trust in Your mercy, O Lord—
for You are our refuge and strength,
our ever-present help in times of trouble.
