“𝗔𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗣𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗰𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝗳𝘂𝗹𝗳𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗱, 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝘁𝗼𝗴𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗶𝗻 𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲. 𝗔𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝘂𝗱𝗱𝗲𝗻𝗹𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗰𝗮𝗺𝗲 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗸𝘆 𝗮 𝗻𝗼𝗶𝘀𝗲 𝗹𝗶𝗸𝗲 𝗮 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗱𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗱… 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗳𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗱 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗛𝗼𝗹𝘆 𝗦𝗽𝗶𝗿𝗶𝘁.” (𝙰𝚌𝚝𝚜 𝟸:𝟷-𝟺)

On this sacred feast of Pentecost, we remember the moment when the Apostles of Jesus Christ received the Holy Spirit, strengthening them with courage, wisdom, and zeal to proclaim the Gospel to all nations. What once began in fear within the Upper Room became a mission of bold faith, as the Apostles went forth to continue the work entrusted to them by Christ Himself.

Among them was Apostol Santiago El Mayor (Saint James the Greater), one of the closest disciples of our Lord and among the first to bear witness to the faith through missionary work and martyrdom. Filled with the fire of the Holy Spirit, Santiago faithfully carried out the mission of evangelization, becoming a shining example of unwavering discipleship, courage, and total surrender to God’s divine will.

May the same Holy Spirit who descended upon the Apostles continue to renew our hearts, strengthen our faith, and guide us in our own Christian journey.

O kabanal-banalang Birheng Maria, Ina ng Diyos at aming Ina, sa ilalim ng iyong minamahal na titulo bilang Nuestra Señora del Pilar, kami ay lumalapit sa iyo nang may pagtitiwala at pagmamahal.

Ikaw na nagpatatag kay Apostol Santiago sa kanyang misyon, patatagin mo rin kami sa pananampalataya, pag-asa, at pag-ibig. Maging gabay ka namin sa oras ng pag-aalinlangan, aliw sa kalungkutan, at kanlungan sa bawat pangangailangan.

Ingatan mo ang aming mga pamilya, bantayan mo ang Simbahan, at akayin mo ang lahat ng kaluluwa palapit sa iyong Anak na si Hesukristo. O Pinagpalang Ina, Nuestra Señora del Pilar, ipagkamit mo sa amin ang biyayang mamuhay nang tapat, magtiyaga sa pananalangin, at mamatay na kaibigan ng Diyos.

Inilalagak namin sa iyong mapagmahal na mga kamay ang aming mga kahilingan:

O most holy Virgin Mary, Mother of God and our Mother, under your beloved title of Our Lady of the Pillar, we come before you with confidence and love.

You who strengthened Saint James in his mission, strengthen us also in faith, hope, and charity. Be our guide in times of doubt, our comfort in sorrow, and our refuge in every need.

Protect our families, watch over the Church, and lead all souls closer to your Son, Jesus Christ. O Blessed Lady of the Pillar, obtain for us the grace to live faithfully, to persevere in prayer, and to die in the friendship of God.

The retablo of the Barangay Chapel of San Vicente, Bato, Camarines Sur began as a simple product of idle creativity, or boredom, so to speak, on the part of the proponent. What started as an idea during moments of reflection gradually developed into a clear concept and design, eventually becoming his own brainchild. It was inspired by the desire to create something meaningful and beautiful for the chapel, something that would reflect faith, devotion, and the identity of the community.

Like many worthwhile projects, the journey from concept to reality was not without challenges. Financial limitations meant that some of the original details and exact designs could not be fully achieved as planned. Certain elements had to be simplified, adjusted, or set aside in order to match the available resources. While this could have been disappointing, it instead became an opportunity to appreciate creativity in a different way.

Behind its realization, however, was the persistence and courage of the BPC President, ma'am Zenaida Acido, together with her equally industrious BPC officers and members, whose dedication helped move the project forward despite many obstacles. It was also made possible through the generosity of all the donors and benefactors who willingly shared their blessings for the good of the community. Equally important were the skills and craftsmanship of Mr. Michael Lumbre, who patiently worked through every recommendation and suggestion provided by the proponent regarding the construction of the project.

The project was further strengthened through the approval and wholehearted support of our Parish Priest, Fr. Rey Jose F. Rellora, who has been instrumental in the many positive transformations taking place in the parish. His guidance, encouragement, and openness to initiatives such as this have inspired the community to continue working together in faith and service.

What makes the retablo special is that, despite these constraints, the final outcome still exceeded expectations. It became a pleasant surprise for all involved. Though not identical to the original vision, it developed its own unique character and beauty. Sometimes, the value of a work is not found in perfect ex*****on, but in the heart, effort, and faith poured into it.

In the end, the retablo stands not only as a sacred structure inside the chapel, but also as a symbol of perseverance, collaboration, and the beauty that can emerge even when plans change. It serves as a reminder that with dedication and trust, even humble beginnings can lead to something truly inspiring. Above all, it is by God’s grace that all these things were made possible. Ad majorem Dei gloriam!
