"We all have given ourselves over to the desires of our flesh. We have fixed our eyes onto the desires of our eyes. We have built our own towers of self-glory and enjoyed the pride of life. This shows that left to our own sinful wills, we would choose the world over the Father. But Jesus rejected these things and never even thought of trading the Father’s love for these sinful and temporary pleasures. And not only that, Jesus came into the world in order to take our worldliness upon himself. Irenaeus said, 'The Word of God, our Lord Jesus Christ, did through His transcendent love, become what we are, that He might bring us to be even what He is Himself.' In him, we have the love of the Father."
