WHEN GOD SEES THE HEART
Acts 5:1–11 — Ananias and Sapphira
Main Message:
God is not only concerned with what people see on the outside. He looks at our heart, our motives, and our true relationship with Him.
1. God Values Honesty More Than Appearance
Ananias and Sapphira wanted to appear generous and faithful, but they were not honest. Their problem was not simply the money they kept—it was the deception in their hearts. We may impress people, but God sees the truth.
2. Sin may start small, But it can grow when we hide it
Sin often begins with a small compromise. When we continue to hide it instead of confessing it, it can grow and control our lives. What we hide from people is never hidden from God.
3. God calls us to live with integrity because we belong to Him.
Integrity means being the same person in public and in private. Our faith should not only be seen in church but also in our home, work, school, business, and everyday decisions.
- Don’t Just Cover the Cracks
Like a cracked wall, we sometimes cover our problems instead of dealing with them. We may smile, worship, and say we are okay, while something is broken inside. God does not want us to simply look okay He wants to heal our hearts.
Ask yourself:
* Am I more concerned about my reputation or my character?
* What am I hiding from God?
* Am I fully surrendered to Christ?
- God Sees Our Sin, But He Also Gives Grace
Acts 5 reminds us that God is holy and takes sin seriously. But Jesus also offers forgiveness, cleansing, and restoration. We don’t need to pretend before Him. We can come honestly and say, “Lord, forgive me and change my heart.”
Final Takeaway
“I don’t want to only look like a Christian. I want to truly belong to Jesus.”
God sees your heart. So stop pretending, stop hiding, and surrender everything to Him.
