The Gift of Forgiveness
By Maloi Malibiran-Salumbides
While it's nice to receive gifts that are wrapped this Christmas season, may mga regalong mahalaga at priceless na hindi mo pwedeng ibalot pero kailangang-kailangang ibigay. Ano ito? The gift of forgiveness.
Matutong magpatawad. Ang sabi sa Ephesians 4:31-32 (NIV) "Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you."
Why is it a must that you forgive?
Una, it is hard to forgive but more difficult to stay bitter. Unforgiveness is dangerous to your health.
Pangalawa, forgiveness is a gift that liberates. You extend forgiveness to someone and in return you experience the beauty of grace, peace of mind and love. Forgiveness frees us. Ang sabi sa Colossians 3:13 (NIV) "Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you."
At pangatlo, forgiveness opens the door to more blessings. A forgiving person is a happier person. Bakit kaya sa Matthew 5:23-24 (NIV) ay ganito ang paalala sa atin, "Therefore, if you are offering your gift at the altar and there remember that your brother has something against you, leave your gift there in front of the altar. First go and be reconciled to your brother; then come and offer your gift.” Being unforgiving hinders your relationship with God and with others. Unforgiveness hinders you from experiencing God's greater blessings.
Remember, one of the best gifts that you can give others and yourself this year is the gift of forgiveness.
BE A BLESSING IN THE WORKPLACE TODAY!
