IN THE OLD TESTAMENT.....God’s judgment was poured out on both individuals and nations.

IN THE NEW TESTAMENT.....God’s judgment was poured out on Jesus. That is the greatest news of the Gospel of grace. We no longer get what we deserve; we get what Jesus paid the price for, if we will only believe.

2 Cor. 1:21–22 says, “Now He who establishes us with you in Christ and anointed us is God, who also sealed us and gave us the Spirit in our hearts as a pledge.”

What this means for our security:

Ikalawa, anointed by God: We’re set apart and equipped by His Spirit nang hindi naghihintay ng second blessing. The “baptism of the Spirit” already happened at salvation (Rom. 8:9–10).

Ikatlo, sealed by God: Ang isang royal seal ay tumutukoy sa ownership and protection. We’re sealed “until the day of redemption,” not until our next bad day (Eph. 1:13–14).

Ikaapat, Spirit as pledge: The Spirit in our heart is God’s down payment guaranteeing full delivery. No way!

Our forgiveness is once for all through Jesus’ blood, kaya wala nang natitirang bagay na pwede pang bumalewala ng seal na ito (Heb. 10:10,14; 2 Cor. 5:19).

There’s now no condemnation for us in Christ—ever (Rom. 8:1).

So yes, binibigyan tayo ng 2 Cor. 1:21–22 ng rock-solid assurance ng ating eternal salvation.

God established us, anointed us, sealed us, and pledged Himself sa loob natin. He started it, He sustains it, and He’ll finish it.

Wow!

Ito ang sinasabi sa 2 Cor. 1:20, “For as many as are the promises of God, in Him they are yes; therefore also through Him is our Amen to the glory of God through us.”

Ginagarantiyahan nito that we won’t lose salvation.

Paano?

Una, every saving promise is already “Yes” in Jesus. Hindi nangangako ang Diyos sa atin contingent on our ongoing performance; He made them to His Son and included us in Him.

Kung ang mga pangako Niya ay “Yes” in Christ, then habang nabubuhay si Jesus, the answer about our salvation stays Yes.

Ikalawa, our role is Amen, not maintenance. Nagdedeklara tayo ng “Amen”—nakikiisa tayo with what God has already secured in Christ. Hindi tayo mga co-signers who can void the contract.

Ikatlo, the immediate context anchors us: God establishes us in Christ, anoints us, seals us, and gives us the Spirit as a pledge (2 Cor. 1:21–22).

Kapag may divine seal and pledge, ibig sabihin guaranteed ang delivery to the day of redemption.

Saktong-sakto ang mga katotohanang ito sa bigger picture: by one offering He perfected us for all time (Heb. 10:14), sealed na tayong mga tunay na Cristiano with the Spirit as a guarantee of our inheritance (Eph. 1:13–14), at wala nang condemnation for those in Christ (Rom. 8:1).

With the promises locked in Christ tapos ang lahat ng kasalanan natin ay fully taken away, wala nang basis for loss.

Bottom line: God’s promises are not “maybe” in us; they are “Yes” in Jesus.

“God is faithful, through whom you were called into fellowship with His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord”.

“God is faithful…” means He doesn’t call and then un-call. Maging malinaw sa atin – His faithfulness—not our track record—anchors us.

“Called into fellowship” means inilagay tayo sa isang unbreakable union with Christ, not a fragile arrangement.

Sealed na tayo with the Spirit as a guarantee hanggang sa araw ng katubusan (Eph. 1:13–14).

Saktong-sakto ito sa context: Just prior, Paul said Jesus will confirm us to the end, blameless (1 Cor. 1:8).

Eternal security flows from Jesus’ finished work. Sa pamamagitan ng isang offering He perfected us for all time (Heb. 10:14), at hindi na ibinibilang ng Diyos ang mga kasalanan natin against us (2 Cor. 5:19).

With no sins left to jeopardize the relationship, wala nang batayan para mapawalang-bisa pa ito.

Ito ang sinasabi tungkol kay Jesus ng 1 Cor. 1:8: “who will also confirm you to the end, blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.”

Una, Jesus takes responsibility for us. He will confirm us to the end.

Ang security natin ay hindi based on our stamina but on His faithfulness.

Ikalawa, our final verdict is blameless. Hindi “hopefully blameless,” ha kundi blameless in the day of Christ—dahil ang once-for-all sacrifice Niya ang nag-perfect sa atin forever (Heb. 10:10,14).

Ikatlo, God won’t change His mind. The very next verse says, “God is faithful” (1 Cor. 1:9).

Siya ang tumawag sa atin into union with Christ and He keeps us there.

We’re sealed with the Spirit para sa araw ng ating redemption (Eph. 1:13–14).

Ikaapat, judgment Day is a happy day for us. Since our sins were taken away and not counted against us, wala nang darating pang condemnation para sa atin (2 Cor. 5:19; Rom. 8:1).

In short, ipinapangako ng 1 Cor. 1:8 na naka-angkla ang assurance natin ng kaligtasan on Jesus’ ongoing work and God’s unchanging promise—hindi sa ating kapos at kulang-kulang na performance.

He started it, He sustains it, and He will present us blameless.
