🌹 A PRAYER TO OUR LADY OF LOURDES FOR HEALING
Our Lady of Lourdes, Mother of compassion,
we come before you with humble hearts.
You know our pain, our worries, and the burdens we carry quietly. Please look upon those who are sick, especially those battling serious illness.
Mother Mary, bring our prayers before your Son, Jesus. Ask Him to touch us with His healing grace, strengthen our bodies, calm our minds, and give peace to our hearts.
When we are afraid, remind us that we are not alone.
When we are tired, help us keep going.
When we lose hope, lead us back to Jesus.
Our Lady of Lourdes, pray for us.
Mother of Healing, intercede for us.
Amen. πŸ™πŸŒΉ
πŸ’™ If you know someone who needs healing tonight, say their name in this prayer.

I named this page Mother of Hope before I knew I'd need her this much.
Funny how God does that sometimes.
Here's where I actually am: post-op, healing, cancer still technically active in the sense that treatment isn't finished, adjuvant therapy ahead of me, no guarantees written anywhere. If I'm honest, "hope" some days feels like a stretch.
But I've learned hope was never a promise that things turn out the way we want. Hope is trusting that Someone bigger than the outcome is holding it. That whatever happens, I'm not facing it unaccompanied.
Mary is called Mother of Hope not because she guaranteed Jesus's suffering would be painless. She didn't get that. She got faith that God was still God, even at the foot of a Cross that looked like the end of everything.
That's the hope I'm holding onto through this diagnosis. Not "it will definitely be fine." But "I am not alone in whether it's fine or not."
If you're fighting something right now β€” cancer, illness, grief, fear of what's next β€” borrow this hope with me. It's big enough for both of us.
Prayer:
Mary, Mother of Hope,
I don't know how my story ends.
I don't know what the next scan will say,
what the treatment will cost me,
or how many more hard days are ahead.
But I know you.
And I know you never left your Son's side,
even when hope looked impossible.
Stay by mine too.
Give me hope that isn't naive β€”
that doesn't pretend this is easy β€”
but that trusts God is still writing this story,
even the parts I can't see yet.
For everyone reading this who is also afraid:
be their Mother of Hope too.
Amen.

Comment HOPE β€” let's carry each other's fights, one prayer at a time.

People keep saying "the surgery went well" like that's the finish line.
It's not. It's the start.
Now comes adjuvant treatment β€” the part nobody claps for. The part where you keep fighting even though the tumor is gone, because it might not really be gone, because cells hide, because "clear margins" doesn't mean "safe forever."
Honestly? The unknown is scarier than the operation was.
I brought that fear to Our Lady Undoer of Knots this week. Every appointment, every scan, every "we'll know more after this next round" β€” they've all tied themselves into one heavy knot in my chest.
I can't untangle it myself. I've tried.
So I'm asking her to do what she does. One knot. Loosened by her fingers, not mine.
Our Lady, Undoer of Knots,
you take what human hands cannot undo
and loosen it, patiently, with love.
I have a knot of fear in my chest tonight β€”
about treatments still ahead,
about my body, about tomorrow,
about whether this will really be enough.
I don't need every knot gone at once.
Just the one closest to your fingers right now.
Untangle it, Mother.
And where you cannot yet untangle,
hold it gently until you can.
Amen.

Lourdes has always been the place people go when medicine has done what it can and faith has to do the rest.
Our Lady of Lourdes,
patroness of the sick, friend of the suffering,
I bring you my body as it is right now β€”
not fully healed, not fully certain, still in the fight.
You have welcomed the sick for generations.
Welcome me too.
Ask your Son for healing, if it is his will.
Ask him for strength, if the road is longer than I hope.
Ask him for peace, every single day between now and whatever comes.
I trust you with what I cannot carry alone.
Amen.
Comment LOURDES and tag someone who is sick right now β€” let's light a prayer for them together.

I'm not writing this for sympathy. I'm writing it because somewhere, someone reading this is also staring at a scar that changed how they see their own body. And I want you to know β€” you're not doing this alone, even on the nights it feels that way.
Mary stood at the foot of the Cross. She didn't get to fix what was happening to her Son. She just stayed. Present. Wounded with him, in her own way.
I think that's what healing actually asks of us sometimes. Not answers. Just staying.
The surgery was the first battle, not the last one. There's more ahead β€” treatment, waiting rooms, needles, side effects I haven't met yet. I won't pretend I'm brave about all of it. Some days I am. Some days I just cry in the shower and let the water hide it.
But she's with me there too.
Our Lady of Sorrows:
Pray for me!
Our Lady of Sorrows,
you stood where no mother should ever have to stand,
watching suffering you could not take away.
Stand with me now. Amen.

A Prayer for Healing to Our Lady of Lourdes
Mama Mary, Our Lady of Lourdes β€”
you chose a broken-down grotto
and a little girl the world had forgotten
to show us something we keep needing to relearn:
that you are not afraid of our weakness.
You are drawn to it.
I come to you today not pretending I'm fine.
I am tired, Mama.
Tired of carrying this in my body.
Tired of carrying this in my mind.
Tired of smiling through something
that has quietly been breaking me.
You know what it is.
You've known longer than I've been willing to admit it.
I'm asking for healing today β€”
not just the kind doctors measure,
but the deep kind.
The kind that starts somewhere underneath everything,
where only God can reach.
Touch what is sick.
Quiet what is anxious.
Restore what has been worn down
by too many hard seasons in a row.
And if the healing doesn't come the way I'm imagining β€”
give me the grace to trust you anyway.
The way Bernadette did.
Who asked nothing for herself.
Who just kept showing up.
I will keep showing up too, Mama.
Bring me to the water.
Bring me to your Son.
Amen.
