“But as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.” — Joshua 24:15

📖 Context of Joshua 24:15

Joshua 24 records Joshua’s final message to the people of Israel before his death. He gathered the Israelites at Shechem and reminded them of everything God had done for them—from calling Abraham, delivering Israel from Egypt, leading them through the wilderness, and giving them the Promised Land.

Joshua challenged the people to make a clear decision. They could follow the gods of the nations around them, or they could remain faithful to the one true God.

Then Joshua boldly declared:

“Choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve… But as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.” — Joshua 24:15

🌿 The Main Message

Joshua was saying, in essence:

“You must choose whom you will follow, but my decision is already made. My family and I will remain faithful to God.”

This was not merely a statement about Joshua personally. It was a declaration of spiritual leadership and commitment for his household.

1. We must choose God intentionally.
Serving God should not be based on circumstances or feelings.
2. Our homes should belong to the Lord.
We can make our homes places of prayer, worship, forgiveness, and God’s Word.
3. Parents and spiritual leaders should set an example.
Joshua didn’t just tell others what to do—he first declared his own commitment.
4. Faithfulness is a daily decision.
Choosing God means trusting Him, obeying His Word, and continuing to follow Him even during difficult seasons.

🙏 A Declaration for Your Home

“As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.
Our home belongs to God.
Our family will seek Him, trust Him, worship Him, and follow His Word.
No matter what comes our way, we will stand together in faith and remain faithful to the Lord.
Jesus is the center of our home, and God will be glorified in our family. Amen!” 🙏🏠

Joshua 24:15 is a powerful verse to proclaim over your family:
“AS FOR ME AND MY HOUSE, WE WILL SERVE THE LORD!”
