22nd. Night of Bible Sharing | Catholic Youth Ministry

Matthew 14:1-12–This Gospel highlights the tragic beheading of John the Baptist, who was imprisoned and killed by King Herod for refusing to stay silent about the truth regarding Herod's marriage.

The reading invites us to reflect on the cost of telling the truth. It serves as a reminder that standing firm in truth even when it's uncomfortable, costly, or misunderstood is a powerful act of faith. John's story shows that truth telling can be courageous and uncompromising, even in the face of threats.

21st Night of Bible Sharing | Catholic Youth Ministry

Matthew 13:54-58–This passage reminds us that familiarity can prevent us from seeing God's work. Even Jesus faced challenges in leading those closest to Him, as people often struggle to accept changes or hold onto past versions of who we once were. May we open our hearts with fresh eyes, trusting that God can work powerfully through ordinary moments.

20th Night of Bible Sharing | Catholic Youth Ministry

July 29, 2026, the Catholic Church celebrates the Memorial of Saints Martha, Mary, and Lazarus. The day's readings focus on faith, service, and the resurrection.

"Martha, Martha, you are anxious and worried about many things. There is need of only one thing. Mary has chosen the better part, which will not be taken away from her."Luke 10:38-42

Scripture reminds us that true faith is expressed through both loving service and quietly drawing close to God. While Martha's work was noble, Mary chose the "better part" to sit at Jesus' feet and listen.

This is a beautiful reminder to balance our busy lives with moments of peace and prayer.

19th Night of Bible Sharing | Catholic Youth Ministry

Matthew 13:36-43, the Parable of the Weeds.
The parable is a powerful reminder that even when you see negativity, injustice, or unfairness in the world, God is still in control. He doesn't rush into judgment; instead, He is patient, giving everyone time to turn toward Him.

Lord, thank You for Your patience and wisdom. Help me not to be discouraged by evil around me, but to keep growing in goodness. Give me the strength to trust Your timing and to focus on my own faithfulness. Amen.

18th Night of Bible Sharing | Catholic Youth Ministry

"He told them another parable: 'The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed, which a man took and sowed in his field. Though it is the smallest of all your seeds, yet when it grows, it is the largest of garden plants and becomes a tree, so that the birds of the air come and nest in its branches.”—Matthew 13:31-35

This parable shows that the Kingdom of God often begins in small and hidden ways. The mustard seed is tiny, but it grows into a large tree, providing shelter for birds.

Lord Jesus, in the small seeds of our lives, help us to plant faith and love. May we trust that You will grow these into something beautiful for Your Kingdom. Amen.

Matthew 13:44-52, Jesus’ parables about the Kingdom of Heaven. It’s a powerful reminder to evaluate what truly matters in our lives.

Lord, help me see Your Kingdom as the greatest treasure. Help me let go of what’s temporary and keep what’s eternal. Give me the wisdom to prioritize what truly matters and the patience to nurture it, especially in the hearts of those I love. Amen.

16th Night of Bible Sharing | Catholic Youth Ministry

Matthew 13:18-23, Jesus' parable of the Sower. It’s a powerful reflection on our hearts—how we receive God’s word in daily life.

Lord, make my heart like good soil. Help me remove the distractions that choke Your word, and give me roots that grow in faith, no matter what life brings. Amen.

This parable is a great reminder to simplify our lives.

Thank you to the Tigley Family for warmly opening your home and welcoming us with love and generosity. May the Lord continue to bless your family abundantly.

15th Night of Bible Sharing | Catholic Youth Ministry

While Jesus was teaching, someone said, “Your mother and brothers are outside, asking to speak with you.” But he said in reply, “Who is my mother? Who are my brothers?” And stretching out his hand toward his disciples, he said, “Here are my mother and my brothers. For whoever does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother, and sister, and mother.”—Matthew 12:46-50

This passage redefines what it means to be part of Jesus' family. True kinship is not defined by physical or blood ties, but by spiritual obedience to God's will. Jesus isn't dismissing his mother; instead, he is elevating the importance of our spiritual connection to God and to one another. This teaches that our faith community and our commitment to doing God's will are what truly matter.

14th Night of Bible Sharing | Catholic Youth Ministry

The Pharisees demanding a sign from Jesus after witnessing His miracles throughout the day. Jesus responds by offering them the "sign of Jonah" as the only sign He will give them.—Matthew 12:38-42

The Gospel invites us to reflect on whether we are seeking signs or actively living in faith. It reminds us that the greatest sign of God's love is the sacrifice and Resurrection of Jesus Christ. Instead of demanding proof, we are called to a deeper conversion of heart and a life of faith.
