Today the Church celebrates the Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

On November 1, 1950, Pius XII defined the dogma of the Assumption. He solemnly proclaimed that the belief whereby the Blessed Virgin Mary, at the close of her earthly life, was taken up, body and soul, into the glory of heaven, definitively forms part of the deposit of faith, received from the Apostles.

The Parish warmly welcomed the Archdiocesan Officers of the Apostleship of Prayer led by their Spiritual Director, Rev. Fr. Marlon Belmonte, who celebrated the First Friday Mass today, August 7, 2026.

After the Mass and Agape, the Archdiocesan meeting was held presided by Apo Marlon. Rev. Fr. Rene Leo Rosabia enthusiastically shared the parish history in his welcome remarks.

During the meeting, turnover of responsibilities from outgoing officers to the new set was held.

Pope Leo XIV bestows the Pallium on Nueva Segovia Archbishop David William A. Antonio on June 29, 2026 at St. Peter’s Basilica in the Vatican on the occasion of the Solemnity of Sts. Peter and Paul.

The pallium is a sacred vestment in reserved for the Pope and metropolitan archbishops. It is a narrow white woolen band worn over the shoulders, symbolizing the "Good Shepherd" carrying a lost sheep and the wearer's unity with the Pope.
