New Beginnings with God
Isaiah 43:19
“See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.”
As we stand at the beginning of a new year, many people are filled with hope, while others carry uncertainty, pain, or fear from the year that has passed. A new year brings new calendars, new plans, and new goals—but more importantly, it brings a reminder that we serve a God of new beginnings.
The Bible teaches us that God is not finished with us. No matter what last year looked like—whether it was full of joy or full of struggle—God offers us a fresh start. Isaiah 43:19 is not just a promise for the future; it is an invitation to trust God right now.
God says, “See, I am doing a new thing.” This means God is already at work, even before we fully step into this year.
I. God Is Always Doing Something New
2 Corinthians 5:17
II. Let Go of the Past to Move Forward
Philippians 3:13–14
III. Trust God in the Wilderness
Deuteronomy 31:8
IV. Walk Forward in Faith and Obedience
Proverbs 3:5–6
As we begin this new year, let us hold tightly to God’s promise. He is doing a new thing. He is making a way. He is renewing His mercy every morning.
Lamentations 3:22–23 reminds us,“Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning.”
May this year be marked not by fear, but by faith; not by regret, but by hope; not by our strength, but by God’s faithfulness.
