The saying "no man is an island" emphasizes that no one can truly live independently, cut off from others. God designed us for fellowship. In Genesis, even in the perfection of Eden, God said, "It is not good for the man to be alone" (Genesis 2:18). We are meant to share our burdens, celebrate our joys, and spur one another on in faith.
When we gather in Jesus' name, we experience His presence in a unique and profound way. This gathering can happen in many forms—through worship, prayer, or simply coming together to support and encourage one another. It is in these moments of togetherness that we are reminded we are not alone in our journey. The presence of Jesus strengthens us and binds us together as His body, the church.
If you've ever felt the weight of trying to go through life on your own, let this be an encouragement: God places people in your life for a reason. Lean into those relationships. Seek community where Christ is at the center, and you will find that you are not walking alone.
Matthew 18:20 says, "For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them." This verse reminds us of the power and presence of Jesus in the community. It reflects the truth that we are not created to live in isolation but to thrive in relationships—both with God and with one another.
