August 22, 2026 | Saturday |Memorial of the Queenship of the Blessed Virgin Mary
Matthew 23: 1-12

Today, the Church celebrates the Memorial of the Queenship of the Blessed Virgin Mary. In today’s Gospel, Jesus reminds us, “Whoever exalts himself will be humbled; but whoever humbles himself will be exalted.” (Matthew 32:12). We live in a world where our worth can easily be measured by likes, reactions, followers, and recognition. But Jesus invites us to ask: Do we serve because we love, or because we want to be seen? True greatness is not about being noticed by many, but about faithfully doing good even when no one is watching.

Mary, our Queen, shows us the beauty of humble service. She did not seek attention or recognition; she simply trusted God and faithfully said yes to His will. Her queenship is not about sitting on a throne, but about her humble obedience and loving service. As we celebrate her Queenship, may we learn from her to serve without seeking applause, to love without expecting recognition, and to do good even when no one notices. In a world obsessed with being noticed, dare to serve unnoticed because true greatness is not about being seen by many, but about faithfully serving even when no one is watching.

The Clergy of Mati finds their 3R’s for their Annual Retreat at Bahay Pari of the Archdiocese of Manila in Makati City. These 3R’s help them to Rest, Reflect and Renew themselves as shepherds according to the heart and mind of Christ.

Before the morning session, our dear shepherds took their Holy Hour, presided by Fr. Donie Emuy. It was a moment to commune with the Lord, listen to His word, and obey His will. This rest is a rest for silence, prayer, reflection and renewal.

Hinaot nga mag-uban kita sa pag-ampo, pagsimba, ug pagmaya isip usa ka Kristohanong pamilya nga puno sa pagtuo, paglaom, ug gugma—dalaygon ang Ginoo sa tanang panahon, ug hinaot nga si San Roque magpadayon sa pagpangaliya alang kanato ug pagpanalipod sa matag pamilya sa atong komunidad.
