Sunday Service | The Prodigal Son's Elder Brother Syndrome
📖 Luke 15:25–32

The story of the prodigal son doesn't end with the younger brother, it also reveals the condition of the elder brother's heart. While he never left home physically, he had drifted far from the Father's heart.

I. A Resentful Heart
Anger that is left unchecked eventually turns into bitterness. Instead of rejoicing over his brother's return, the elder brother allowed resentment to consume him.

II. A Distant Heart
Though he remained in his father's house, he had no real relationship with his father or compassion for his brother. Physical presence does not always mean relational closeness.

III. A Misplaced Heart
When our priorities are misplaced, we can miss the very heart of God.

May we examine our hearts today. Let us not only stay in the Father's house but also live in the Father's love, free from bitterness, growing in relationship, and rejoicing when others experience His grace.
