AUGUST 2 | ST. JOHN MARY VIANNEY SUNDAY
Today, August 2, 2026, the faithful of the Diocese of Kalibo, together with many parishes and communities around the world, joyfully celebrate Vianney Sunday, honoring St. John Mary Vianney, the patron saint of parish priests, in anticipation of his feast day on August 4.
On this special occasion, we give heartfelt thanks to God for the gift of the priesthood and for the dedicated priests who faithfully serve the People of God through the celebration of the Holy Eucharist, the administration of the Sacraments, the proclamation of the Gospel, and their tireless pastoral ministry.
As one diocesan family, we also offer our prayers for Most Rev. Cyril B. Villareal, D.D., Bishop of Kalibo, Most Rev. Jose Corazon T. Tala-oc, D.D., Bishop-Emeritus of Kalibo, and all the priests of the Diocese of Kalibo. Through the intercession of St. John Mary Vianney, may the Lord continue to bless them with wisdom, holiness, good health, and joyful perseverance as faithful shepherds after the Heart of Christ.
Let us continue to remember our priests in our daily prayers, asking the Lord to sustain them in their sacred ministry and to inspire more young men to respond generously to His call.
Happy Priests' Day!
"The priesthood is the love of the Heart of Jesus."
โ St. John Mary Vianney
