A gentle reminder to all our parishioners: CLAPPING has NO significance in ALL liturgical celebrations, especially this Lenten Season; in other words, the "fasting" of our senses.

- Abp. Socrates Villegas (2020) said: "Let us add more abstinence to this sober season. Let us abstain from applause in Church. May this abstinence from clapping flow over into the other days of the year."

- Saint Pius X said “It is not fitting that the servant should be applauded in his Master’s house”.

- Pope Benedict XVI on the same matter said “Wherever applause breaks out in the liturgy because of some human achievement, it is a sure sign that the essence of liturgy has totally disappeared and replaced by a kind of religious entertainment”.

Holy Week Calender ✝️🛐

Holy Week is the most sãcred time in the Christian calendar. It is the final week of Lent, when the Church remembers the last days of Jesus Christ on earth, His sụffering, dêãth, and glorious resurrêction.
This tradition has been observed by Christians for centuries, especially within the Catholic Church, as a time of deep reflection, repêntance, and renewal.

It begins with Palm Sunday, which recalls Jesus’ triumphant entry into Jerusalem, where people welcomed Him with palm branches, shouting praises. But that joy quickly turns into a more serị́ous journey.
On Holy Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, the Church reflects on Jesus’ teachings, His wãrnings about bêtrayal, and the growing teńsion that would lead to His arrêst.

Then comes Maundy Thursday, a very powerful day. This is when Jesus shãred the Last Supper with His disciples, giving us the gift of the Holy Eucharist and teaching humility by washing their feet. That same night, He was betrãyed and arrêsted.

Good Friday is a solemn day of sørrøw. It is the day Jesus was crụ́cified and diêd on the Cross for the salvãtion of the world. The Church observes this day in silence, prayer, and deep reverênce.

After that comes Holy Saturday (also called Black Saturday), a quiet day of waiting. It reflects the time Jesus lay in the tomb, and the world seemed still, holding its breath.

Finally, everything changes on Easter Sunday, the day of victøry. Jesus rises from the dêad, conquêring sị̀n and dêãth.
This is the foundation of Christian faith and the reason for our hope.

As you enter this coming week, expect a spirịtual journey, not just a routine. It’s a time to slow down, pray more intentionally, attend Mass if you can, reflect on your life, and reconnect with God. You may feel a mix of emøtions, joy, sørrøw, gratitude, but all of it leads to renéwal.

Holy Week is not just about remembering what happêned… it’s about allowing what happêned to change you.

The question now is, how are you preparing for the Holy Week next week?

Let's hear from you.

Lị́ke and Shãrê to rêãch and educate others.

LENTEN FRIDAY IS A DAY OF ABSTINENCE

Today is Lenten Friday — the Friday of the Second Week of Lent, a sacred time when the Church invites us to pause, reflect, and remember the sacrifice of our Lord Jesus Christ. During the season of Lent, Fridays carry a deeper meaning because they remind us of Good Friday, the day when Jesus offered His life on the cross for our salvation.
On this Lenten Friday, we are called in a special way to practice prayer, fasting, and acts of charity. It is a day to examine our hearts and ask ourselves if we are truly following the Lord with sincerity. Sometimes we become too busy with our daily concerns that we forget to nurture our relationship with God. Lent gently calls us back, reminding us that conversion is a daily journey.
Fasting and abstinence on Fridays are not simply rules to follow. They are spiritual practices that help us grow in discipline and humility. By making small sacrifices, we learn to detach ourselves from comforts and become more aware of those who suffer or lack the basic needs of life. In offering these sacrifices, we unite our little struggles with the suffering of Christ.
This day is also an invitation to reflect on God’s mercy. The Gospel readings during this week remind us that God patiently waits for us to return to Him. No matter how far we may have wandered, His love remains constant. Like a loving Father, He continues to call us back, offering forgiveness and a fresh start.
As we journey through this season of Lent, let this Friday remind us that true conversion begins in the heart. It is not only about giving up certain things, but about becoming better followers of Christ—more patient, more forgiving, more compassionate, and more faithful in prayer.
May this Lenten Friday renew our desire to walk closely with the Lord. May our sacrifices, prayers, and acts of kindness bring us closer to the heart of Jesus, who gave everything for our salvation.

"Clear Guidelines during Lent"

Catholics aged 14 and older are required to abstain from eating meat on Ash Wednesday (Feb 18), Good Friday (April 3), and all Fridays during Lent. This tradition honors Christ's sacrifice, with "meat" defined as flesh from mammals or poultry (e.g., beef, pork, chicken). Fish and cold-blooded animals are permitted.

Key Dates for No Meat (2026):
•Ash Wednesday (Feb 18)
•All Fridays (Feb 20, 27, March 6, 13, 20, 27)
•Good Friday (April 3).

❎Definition of Meat: Beef, pork, chicken, turkey, and other land-based animal products.
✅Allowed Foods: Fish, seafood (shellfish, clams, etc.), eggs, and dairy.

The practice is a form of penance, sacrifice, and spiritual reflection on Christ’s death on a Friday.

Exceptions: Those with health conditions, pregnant, or nursing mothers are exempt.

Fasting: In addition to no meat, Catholics aged 18-59 must fast on Ash Wednesday and Good Friday, allowing only one full meal and two smaller, meatless meals. While some choose to abstain from meat throughout the entire 40 days of Lent, the official Church rule is strictly for Fridays, Ash Wednesday, and Good Friday.

📿 5 Reasons Why You Should Carry a Rosary in Your Pocket

1️⃣ A Constant Reminder of God Throughout Your Day

Carrying a rosary might seem like a small act, but its impact on your spiritual life can be profound. Having it with you serves as a quiet reminder that God is present in every moment of your day.

Every time you feel the beads in your pocket, it invites you to pause and turn your heart toward prayer. In a busy world, this small habit helps keep your mind centered on God.

Whether you are new to praying the rosary or have prayed it for years, carrying one can strengthen your daily relationship with Christ.

2️⃣ The Rosary Is a Powerful Prayer Tool

What is a rosary and why is it important?

The rosary is far more than a string of beads—it is a powerful prayer and meditation on the life of Jesus Christ.

Each decade leads us to reflect on the mysteries of Christ’s life, death, and resurrection while asking the intercession of Virgin Mary.

The prayer that echoes through the rosary is the familiar:

“Hail Mary, full of grace…”

Through this prayer we ask Mary to guide us closer to her Son.

The rosary becomes both a school of prayer and a path to deeper faith.

3️⃣ A Source of Grace Loved by the Saints

For centuries, the rosary has been cherished by saints and faithful Catholics alike.

Tradition connects the rosary to Saint Dominic, who promoted devotion to it as a way of spreading the Gospel. Later saints such as Padre Pio prayed the rosary constantly and encouraged others to do the same.

Because of this long history, Catholics often describe the rosary not merely as a tradition but as a lifeline to Heaven—a prayer that brings peace, strength, and closeness to God.

4️⃣ A Pocket-Sized Reminder of Faith

Should you carry a rosary daily? Many Catholics find that keeping one nearby helps them stay spiritually focused.

Carrying a rosary in your pocket is a simple but meaningful habit. When you touch it, it gently reminds you to:

Say a quick prayer
Ask for guidance
Offer gratitude to God

Even without praying the full rosary, this small reminder can help you realign your heart with Christ during the ordinary moments of life.

5️⃣ Strength in Temptation and Opportunities for Prayer

There are many practical reasons to keep a rosary nearby:
Spontaneous Prayer Opportunities
You can pray anywhere—while waiting in line, traveling, or sitting quietly.

A Shield Against Temptation

Many people find that holding the rosary helps them resist fear, doubt, or temptation by redirecting their thoughts toward God.

A Witness of Faith

Carrying a rosary is also a quiet but bold statement of belief. It shows that faith is part of everyday life.

A rosary in your pocket may be small, but its spiritual impact can be powerful. It keeps prayer close, reminds you of God’s presence, and connects you to a tradition loved by countless saints.
In the middle of busy days and unexpected challenges, those simple beads can guide your heart back to Christ—one prayer at a time. 📿
