In serving god specially as an altar server don't compare yourself to others just do your work and do it with love if they don't recognize your work it's okay god knows

LOOK👀‼️ It’s the 7th Anniversary of the return of our beloved BALANGIGA BELLS after the long wait, moving forward the ST. LAWRENCE DEACON AND MARTYR PARISH also celebrated its Parish Christmas Party. Incomplete pero laban parin❗️Our Balangiga Altar Servers actively engaged with the activities, they’ve shown that they’re not only inspired to serve the altar with smile in their hearts but also all in one and ready to cooperate. One evening, after a good dinner at the Convent with the parish priest’s household, we stayed at the table as we always do. No one stood up right away. Some drank coffee, others enjoyed a glass of cold water, and we talked and laughed like family.

In the middle of our conversation, one of the altar servers shared a memory from his early days as a new recruit. He said that back then, the hierarchy in the organization was very clear. There was the Sacristan Mayor, the officers, the seniors, and then the new recruits. As a newcomer, he saw how everything was orderly. Leaders led with confidence, and members respected and followed them.

But now that he is one of the seniors, he feels that things have changed. The line between leaders and members is not as strong as it used to be.

So he turned to the parish secretary and asked, “Ate, why are the children today so different? Why don’t they respect the hierarchy the way we did? We followed our seniors as long as what they said was good. But now everything feels different. Why is that?”

The secretary sighed and replied, “Children today don’t grow up with the same discipline we had. We were taught to listen, to obey, and to respect authority. But now, because of technology and the influence of modern culture, many young people have become more sensitive. A simple correction can already make them feel offended. They want to decide everything on their own, even when they still need guidance.”

I then asked her, “Ate… can this be changed?”

She nodded slowly. “Yes. But it will be difficult. And it will take a long time.”
